Not sure. Loads of people outside our house - we are just outside the exclusion zone - abouy 2 yards - I can hear helicopters above noe. Off to cuddle my dd - Hope everyone and their loved ones get home ok.

On the one hand it's reassuring that the police are acting so quickly and seriously. On the other hand it's bloody scary.

In the report earlier on sky they said one of the men put a rucksack on the floor and then jumped off as the doors were shutting. I can't begin to imagine how terrifying that must have been for those in that carriage.

Left about 4 and managed to find a taxi; got to Kings Cross about 5 and my train is about to leave . There were lots of police cars, fire engines etc along the taxi route.

Glad that I took out extra money at lunchtime - quite unusual for me to do that.

Mother in law is in london today shes gone to the queens garden party or something like that. Shes fine cause was well away from the area.

St Albans appears to be open for business again - they are letting people back to the station - heard somebody say they had carried out a controlled explosion on a suspect package - not sure if this is true - didn't hear anything.

DH was at a meeting in the Café Royal, this afternoon and they have been advised by the police to stay put and have a beer or two, needless to say he didn't argue

I still have a feeling that this is a copycat attack by a bunch of clowns. If Al Qaeda were behind it, those bombs would've gone off, surely?

Copy cat it might be, but I don't think they are a 'bunch of clowns'. I think they are terrorists.

What I mean by clowns is that, thank god, they did not carry out their attack competently

could it all possibly be distraction to divert resources away from the city so they can attack there? although prob. not as peak rush hour is past by now really

Well, happy to report that the Central line (and a bus) did a sterling job of getting me home in record time! Have been home an hour!

DH has just rung, They i.e he and the lads have done a risk assesment and they think it would make sense to go for another beer and then get the 8.00 ish from Waterloo.

Not read all the thread but DP works in Liverpool Street and was there two weeks ago when my heart stopped. There again today when it fluttered a bit but I think he is on his way home to us as I drunkenly type. How are you all, shaken not stirred? (I'm in Scotland).

Chicagomum - sorry, I find that kind of speculation and scaremongering REALLY unhelpful, when we're all trying to keep calm, take the facts as they are and minimise any disrution - surely one of the best defences against all this.

Was too chicken to take teh bus tonight to London Bridge so got a cab instead - will be back on the bus on Monday though

i'm not scaremongering it was just something that someone emailed to me a short while ago and as i am out of the country with a huge number of friends and family very much in the thick of it it was just something that i wanted to so what others thought about it
