Baby is due in September

So baby could possibly be born at No. 10 Downing street....

I agree with Kittycat37

good luck to them, I am pleased for them in a kind of detatched way as I am whenever I hear of pregnancies of people I don't know

I think the cynics are out of order

They lost their son last year. Their youngest child is, I dunno, two or three? Seems a perfectly reasonable time of life to have another child imo.

Charlieandlola · 23/03/2010 10:01

I hope the camerons don't read this. Congratulations to them.

Lovecat · 23/03/2010 10:04

Congratulations to them.

Still ain't gonna vote for them.

And now MP has mentioned DC/Billy Bear (it's uncanny) having sex, well, thank you so bloody much, that's put me right off my tea!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 23/03/2010 10:07

Just ploughed through the whole thread. I don't know how anyone who has TTC at any point could possibly think this baby could be timed to coincide with the election - babies aren't conceived on demand (lots of TTC threads here are evidence of that!).

This is not political news, and I think it speaks volumes about our idle press corp that it is labelled as such.

I am very pleased for them and I wish them well. I'm sure they are lovely people and I admire them for enduring the level of public scrutiny that entry into public life entails.

But I tend not to agree with most of Dave's party's policies, so I won't be voting for them, baby or no.

Also, I don't think we need to beat ourselves up to much about being nasty bitchy MumsNet, the message from the majority of posters here is 'congratulations'.

Bella32 · 23/03/2010 10:08

Agree with Tigerfeet.

Shame on you cynics: they buried their son recently.

Wishing them all the best.

morningpaper · 23/03/2010 10:11

I don't see any awful comments TBH

Have you read OTHER comments about this news story on any other forum?

strictlyfabulous · 23/03/2010 10:17

Despite your political stance, they are intelligent people who have suffered grief. All these cynical people who think it's a voting tactic have got to remember that - would they seriously, after everything they've been through, have another baby just to win an election???? I wish them both the very best.

lottiejenkins · 23/03/2010 10:18

I have read some of the horrid nasty and vindictive comments on this thread and it really and truly makes me ashamed to be a member of MN. I lost my first son when he was born prematurely at 26 weeks. My second son has disabilties. I do not believe that they have done this for votes. I am very happy for them that they are having another baby and i wish them well. I wrote to them when Ivan died and received a lovely letter back. I was also involved in a piece on Radio 2 to do with losing a child which came about because of the death of Ivan.

Bucharest · 23/03/2010 10:19

I don't think it's calculated, anymore than I did when Princess Tony was pregnant.

I just find myself wondering how the fvck these people find the time and energy.

morningpaper · 23/03/2010 10:20

lol Bucharest

yes it's depressing when the leader of the opposition has a better sex life than us in the run-up to an election

electrofagz · 23/03/2010 10:20

Congratulations but I think Cam should back down now - we can't have somebody suffering sleepless nights and wearing vomit on his suits running the country, can we?

I don't think their decision to have a baby was politically motivated at all; however, it does have a positive impact upon their chances of success for certain - think peak of fitness (jogging on the seafront), potency, healthy jizz, new life, rebirth, new hope ....

morningpaper · 23/03/2010 10:21

@ healthy jizz

electrofagz · 23/03/2010 10:26

"yes it's depressing when the leader of the opposition has a better sex life than us in the run-up to an election"

Since when was george Osborne the leader of the opposition?

SpicedGerkin · 23/03/2010 10:26

Bucharest - They have people who do it for them.

Abetadad - Did you read the thread about GBs interview? If so wtf are you going on about? If not go have a nosey you'll see plenty vile people on the other side too, they are not exclusive to one particular colour.

Bucharest · 23/03/2010 10:54

SG- do they? I'd like one of those....I wonder where they get them from?

taffetacat · 23/03/2010 11:14

I only have a very small brain. Can people stop referring to him as DC? I've only just got my head round the acronyms as it is.

Merrylegs · 23/03/2010 11:23

And predictably, we are linked!

Monstermuncher · 23/03/2010 11:23

There are some nasty people out there - politics aside they lost a child last year and must have been through hell. There's plenty of people on MN who know how hard it can be to conceive at all, let alone to time it for an election so the idiots in the press who are saying this is a PR stunt are crazy. I wish them well and if Sam Cam is reading this, please come and join us on the September Antenatal thread.

cheeky feckers at the Guardian

their second article on this subbject today

MilaMae · 23/03/2010 11:33

I couldn't care less to be frank.

DC and his cronies will make life far more difficult for my children (and many others) by making us pay more tax just because as a couple of 20 years we're not married, getting rid of Children Centres etc, etc.

That is far more newsworthy to me.

Merrylegs · 23/03/2010 11:37

Hmm. Interesting how in 'discussions of the day' on right, this one is subtitled 'mumsnet election', with a wink.... and precedes the Guardian article. Who is spinning who?! (Whom??? Pedants!)

Bella32 · 23/03/2010 11:41

Whom is married to whom at the Guardian?
