Baby is due in September

So baby could possibly be born at No. 10 Downing street....

Why does the BBC new website see the need to put the word pregnant in italics? The woman's expecting a baby, she is pregnant, why italics??

Having got that little irritation off my chest, good luck to them, I say.

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 15:53

Don't fancy a battering today, hully

Strix · 22/03/2010 15:53

And don't forget her other other job.

dawntigga · 22/03/2010 15:53

Good luck to them, it will have a measure of calculation in it but under the circumstances I'm prepared to forgive that.

Some good news - considering what they have gone through

StuffedFullOfNothing · 22/03/2010 15:55

You bunch of cynical wankers!

I think very little of Dave as a politician but am very pleased for them.

It will still get the spin treatment, yes, orangina. You know, all the "young fertile family man, breath of fresh air, blah blah blah" stuff. Even if it was a purely personal piece of happy news. That's just the way politicians run their campaigns. And definitely the way the Daily Mail will see it.

Rockbird · 22/03/2010 16:00

Why the hell would it be calculated? Seriously, would any of you have a child to suit DH's job? If so you're bloody nutters because I wouldn't sign up for what I went though with DD just for the hell of it.

And supposing he gets in, his first few months will disappear under a fog of sleepless nights and tiredness. Yeah, really good timing....

I'm pleased for them. I have no time for DC as a politician/potential PM, but he seems like a basically decent man and good luck to them.

Bessie123 · 22/03/2010 16:08

hmm, I wonder if she's on our due in September thread...

I think its lovely too and am pretty sure he's hinted in the past that another child would be quite likely.

kittycat37 · 22/03/2010 16:26

Err...perhaps I'm the only one to not feel any particular reaction whatsoever? I don't see what it's got to do with anything really. Nor would I have any emotional reaction if it were a politian's wife from another party....if it was a friend that would, of course, be entirely different. So flame me.

madwomanintheattic · 22/03/2010 16:28

hey, lapin, how long have you been back?

thought you'd been gone forever...

wannaBe · 22/03/2010 16:29

are there really people out there that are so gullable as to vote for someone purely because his wife is pregnant then? good luck to them.

AnyFucker · 22/03/2010 16:30

kitty, I agree with you

and I still won't vote for him, even though he does still have sex with the fragrant Samantha (allegedly)

Spidermama · 22/03/2010 16:32

Nothing to do with cynicism. Of course they will have taken the upcoming election into account over the timing of this. BOF was just pointing out the obvious.

Good luck to them with the baby. I cannot extend my good wishes for the election though. I'm very worried about the possibility of a Tory government. Really worried.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/03/2010 16:34

This falls firmly within my DGAF (don't give a fuck) category, alongside Kerry Katona's excercise plan, how young Felicity Kendal looks and Jeffrey Archer's opinions on cricket.

All very nice for the individual concerned but holds zero interest for me.

sabs1981 · 22/03/2010 16:35

spidermama I also worry about the Tories coming in

StuffedFullOfNothing · 22/03/2010 16:35

Yup, clearly William Hague said 'Dave, if we're not looking at a 20 point lead by November I'm going to have to ask you to impregnate your wife'.

You don't reckon they are doing it for the child tax credits then?
It's very nice for them, I like a baby I do.

cluckyduck · 22/03/2010 16:44

From one bereaved mother to another I wish her nothing but the very best of luck, and a happy, enjoyable pregnancy after everything they've been through
