DH just rang - he is at home. Conference was at the Royal Academy with a bunch of senior insurance underwriters. They announced at 9.45 there was a problem and advised them to stay put and look roudn the exhibition. About an hour of surreal gazing at pictures and frantically trying to get mobile reception ensued.

Around 11am DH eventually decided to make for Charing Cross station to get home. Station closed so started to walk.

Made it to half way to Lewisham when he managed to pick up a cab!

Marina, plan at teh moment is for me to work late tonight and DH will drive in and pick me up. My babysitter has rung and said she'll look after them for me while DH comes to get me.

Obviously we will give you a lift home with us, although depending on access DH thinks we may need to walk somewhere south of the river.

I'm soooooo relieved

Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you all- just wish there was something I could do to help. My stepdaughter works near Old Street but is fine. So scary.

If D had been on time for work I dread to think. He uses met line, gets off in Farringdon and starts work 1 9a,. lickily he was very late today. he's trapped in soho at the momnet and not sure what he'll do but at least he's ok.

Iv'e just made my way back from soho, walked to vauxhall and got a train (avoided Waterloo) pretty grim out there

Dh works in Mornington Crescent and thank God is OK - even more thank God he walked this morning rather than getting on the tube at King's Cross. Apparently the streets up there are full of people walking home - the people stuck in the tunnels at King's Cross have, I gather, been evacuated so presumably this is where some of them are heading.

I was working at the BMA in Tavistock Square on Tuesday - where the bus exploded. Travelled there by bus... Sends shivers down your spine. Am waiting to hear whether everyone I know at the BMA is OK.

MI is on hols at the mo - but has anyone heard from Aloha?

My DP is working at canary wharf and i spoke to him about 20 minutes ago and he told me that they have not been evacuated yet and been told to stay put until further notice!
I had been trying to phone him from about 11.30 this morning and was getting really worried coz i couldn't get through to any of of his phones!!!
Mind put at rest now though!
Thoughts going out to those who are still trying to contact friends/loved ones. Keep trying!
