Blair has gone up hugely IME after that conference. poor man, what a weight on your shoulders.

hakuna · 07/07/2005 12:22

no place here for flippancy, Fio2. even if you don't want your children to watch the news, your remark stings.

charleepeters · 07/07/2005 12:23

I dont know what going on as far as alquida (sp) and why anyone would have done it (im not a political or news fan) - but i have turned the tv off ds is only 10 months old i dont want him seeing this at his age. I cant wait to get out of this country to a smaller quieter country where this sort of thing doesnt often happen

RTKangaMummy · 07/07/2005 12:23

NUMBER 68 BUS WAS GOING OTHER WAY

NOT THE ONE THAT EXPLODED

Thanks HD. Am beyond words. My thoughts are with everyone in London or who has loved ones there xx

WigWamBam · 07/07/2005 12:24

Hakuna, Fio wasn't being flippant, she was referring back to a remark about being grateful for the innocence of CBeebies. This is not a time for MNers to be attacking each other.

kid · 07/07/2005 12:24

thanks HD,
Dh has phoned shop and are waitng for them to call back. They are asking police on the scene what roads are accessable. He isn't intended on taking the car, not that he would be able to anyway. He will probably walk.

FlounceyFlossam · 07/07/2005 12:24

JakB, Dp's brother works there too. Have only heard he is safe - nothing about having to stay there all night. Do they think they are a target?

suzywong · 07/07/2005 12:25

quite right WWB, lay off Fio please

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 12:26

Not the time or place

HappyHuggy · 07/07/2005 12:26

my step dad works on canary wharf, in the HSBC building. Mt friends are there too. I just dont know what to do, i just have to wait but its so bloody hard.

Ive always expected something like this to happen but never believed it truly would

sharklet · 07/07/2005 12:26

I am really worried about my best freind who I can't get hold of. Have tried emailing and texting but no good. I was in London working yesterday and almost stayed the night with her and would have been coming back first thing. It really scares me I could have been there.

Really puts things into perspective. My prayers to out to anyone who is worrying for someone.

soapbox · 07/07/2005 12:27

I hope KateandtheGirls is okay.

This must all bring it back for her

Fimbo · 07/07/2005 12:27

Do you think they will target any other British Cities?

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 12:27

God Soapbox yeah, i didn't think.

Mind you, will she be awake now? I ahve no clue on American time difference

Marina · 07/07/2005 12:27

Fio I am in the thick of it here and I didn't interpret your remark as at all flippant. All my family are safe and well currently, but the longer this can be kept from my children the better...we'd have CBeebies on at home if we were there, believe me.

dizzymama · 07/07/2005 12:28

fimbo that was exactly what i was thinking.
thoughts are with all london based mnetters and families x

almostanangel · 07/07/2005 12:29

Dont be sorry Fio x

Marina · 07/07/2005 12:30

You're all right Fio hon. most of us aren't cross with you

kid · 07/07/2005 12:30

No need to sppologise Fio.

GeorginaA · 07/07/2005 12:30

Mother in law just phoned - they're safe.

hakuna · 07/07/2005 12:30

Did not mean to "attack" anyone. Very upset, not being careful. sorry. I read Fio2's mssg out of context. please accept my apology, Fio2.

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 12:30

Glad GeorginaA
