Just heard from DH in the ITN building- major alert. Much worse than we are being led to believe. They think they are going to be locked in the building overnight

they are playing the darkest hour is just before dawn on the radio!

I've got the kids here so wasn't watching TV thank god. I remember being sickened at seeing close ups of dead bodies in the Kenyan US embassy bombings, for which the bBC later apologised. Some days I am so grateful for the innocence of CBeebies.

Ambulance spokesman says 6 underground stations and 1 bus (Tavistock sq) involved - so earlier reports OTT as media reports always are.

No deaths confirmed by him but other sources saying 2 only, not the 20 reported before.

Can I just say how impressed i am with the speed that the emergency services got to the scenes and co-ordinated the rescue efforts.

He is getting the news 20 minutes before it is shown. By all accounts nobody knows what is going on yet and there are mixed messages from lots of sources but it is a major terrorist attack

thanks - its not clear whether the explosion happened then or was reported then. He's in his mid 70's and MIL in a panic, so we're just sitting and waiting like everyone else. 10-1 he's fine, but it's awful knowing he was definitely heading for the tube at the time

Poopoogirl, Blair is leaving G8 in a couple of hours for London. He said it's pretty clear that it's a terrorist attack. 6 explosions confirmed, one on the bus and the others underground. 2 confirmed fatalities so far. Rescue on the line at King's Cross ongoing.
