Danyl Johnson on X Factor.

I just don't get why people have such a downer on Danyl Johnson, making him out to be hugely cocky and overconfident. He is one of the best singers on the show.
Reading the paper this morning, there seems to be a feeling of satisfaction that he got what he deserved.
He has consistently performed well, and I just don't get why the media want to give him such a hard time. He is a nice lad who lives in my village near Reading, and is getting all this stuff written about how awful he is. My DH and DD1 met him at the rugby a few weeks ago and he was absolutely lovely, not diva-like at all. DD1 went all girly and star-struck, and lost the power of speech. He was SO kind, he told her not to be shy, and they had a nice little chat. My DH chatted to him too, and says he was a really nice guy.
I just think its really unfair the way he is being portrayed.
And Cheryl and that whole deadlock business, I've gone right off her now. Used to think she was nice.
Sorry for the rant, don't know what came over me

well I don't know, I haven't been following it in the media at all. I watch xfactor and have a gossip on here about it but that's it, so don't think the media influenced how I see him IYSWIM. I don't dislike him but I also don't feel he has a winning personality that sticks out (as least on the show which is all I know of him). Anyway I already said I don't like the way he performs/acts on stage during his performance

Don't know what other people think/say about him

I have to admit that I thought the twins were pretty unpleasant at first, but again, that is just careful editing and media manipulation, so I am as guilty of making assumptions as anyone. They are just two very young lads having a great time. Could do with a few singing lessons though

it's all an act, maniuplated by the show and by their mentors to get attention/target specific audience groups

i bet dumb blonde stacey solomon is with MENSA, innocent village girl lucy is the town's tart, and the twins probably volunteer at RSPCA animal centres in their spare time..

Maybe in real life he's bald and it's just a massive afro wig

who not what LOL

Jamie Archer the one with the afro hairdo calls himself Jamie Afro. That's his stage name (the one who bends down and sings to the floor a lot)

oh duh sorry

The whole thing is bound to be totally manipulated from beginning to end. I bet a lot of really good people don't get through auditions because they don't have a saleable sob story etc

I think the judges look like a bunch of clowns these days bickering about "my act" all the time. I'm finding it a bit weird actually. Louis I like though. I like the way he turns almost right round in his chair and creases up when he laughs

apparently Louis hasn't spoken to JLS since last year's show. Bit surprising.

I love Danyl too! I don't think he's cocky or arrogant. He's got style and talent which is more than I can say for a lot of those contestants.

And while I'm feeling assertive and not my usual meek and mild self, what is all this cr*p about Lucie Jones coming from a tiny village. She's from Pentyrch, near Cardiff hardly the back of beyond. I've been there. Danyl is from Arborfield, which is a rural village near to Reading. I think its smaller than Pentyrch. And we don't even get a mention.
I know it's not relevant, but it's about time someone put Arborfield on the map!

We have a very nice farm shop here in Arborfield too. It's all going on here.

Oddly no mention of the farm shop though

Arborfield rocks. But quietly, so as not to upset the sheep, and the chickens, and the pigs, and the cows.

Farm shop doesn't have a website. Danyl knows where it is though. My DH asked him.

now why was your dh asking him if he knew where the farm shop was?

Just curious about country ways you know

He's annoying. He's got jazz hands and a big, toothy grin and he's so annoyingly eager.

It's not a talent show, is it? Danni Minogue and Cheryl Cole judge it, FGS.

where's the pompom team gone?

DH is not sure how the conversation came up, but he definitely remembers Danyl saying he knew where the farmshop was. Funnily enough, that was when Danyl started to look a bit nervous and made his excuses to go.....
