I think his victory in the EU elections makes him think that he can reveal more of his true true heinous side.

How long before he starts extolling the virtue of gas chambers?

policy - it's an "interest" subject of mine - still weighing up between coming a family support worker or working with groups such asylum seekers after I've done my OU degree (or maybe I'll combine the two )

policywonk · 12/07/2009 16:53

Sounds great. I'd like to do something like that, but I fear I lack the necessary interpersonal skills - I'd just start howling or punching people

policywonk · 12/07/2009 16:55

Punching detention centre staff etc., not asylum seekers...

saintmaybe · 12/07/2009 17:39

You get me to click on a fucking BNP website?

Fuck Right Off

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 17:46

"native British people"

sorry - but they don't class anyone that isn't white as British - regardless of how many generations they've lived here, no matter what they do for their country, no matter how much they've put into the country.

Guess what - I have contributed to the "loss" of the "native British people" by having children with a black man. My children ARE British, but the BNP would say they're not.

They want to "assist" in sending immigrants back to countries that they risk being tortured in.,

and have they thought that if they repatriate all these foreigners - not only will we lose a large number of key workers, but those countries could suddenly decide they're not going to have any British expats there.

"We will also clamp down on the flood of ?asylum seekers?, all of whom are either bogus or can find refuge much nearer their home countries."

flood - what flood???? all of whom are bogus?? by who'se reckoning?

Capital punishment - you want a re-introduction of that in this country - along with coporal punishment?

As for their economic policies - what do they think will happen to business that rely on cheap foreign imports to be able to survive - they will more than likely close and as result there will be more job losses.

"Native" Britson (read "white" - regardless of which generation they're from) will get priority for jobs - so mr blace joe bloggs who has been here since birth will be actively discriminated against - even if he's the best candidate for a job

Agriculture - surely they want to increase quantity of British goods as well as quality rather than reduce it?

Motorway speed limits increased???

Foreign aid used in the right way (which much of it is) actually helps to decreased the number of people wanting to come as economic migrants. If conditions are good in their own countries they're more likely to stay!

And as for only wanting to trade with Canada, Australia and New Zealand - white countries???

Does the people of Eire want to be part of the British Isles? And doesn't that rather go against the grain of keeping the country as it is???

They're happy to lets abhorrent regimes continue doing their own thing without any pressure to change - so long as the're not trying to mess with Britian. Thank goodness they weren't in power during Apartheid in SA - it was international pressure that brought that horrific political system to an end.

This mention of "British" people all the way through excludes VAST numbers of people that have legitimately worked and lived here for years - including those born and bred here!

and that's ok???

hercules1 · 12/07/2009 17:48

shudder. THank the lord I didnt click on the link.

policywonk · 12/07/2009 17:49

Well:

  1. I've no idea whether that first bit about demographic trends is true - it might be but I wouldn't take the BNP as gospel on this of all topics;
  2. When this document talks about 'native British people', it obviously means 'white British people'. There are several problems with this. First, there are hundreds of thousands of people - if not millions - who are as British as anyone else, but are not white. Secondly, the minute you start investigating the family tree of the average 'white' Briton, you're going to find somebody who is not 100 per cent Anglo-Saxon Caucasian. So the whole thing is based on a dishonest, racist premise.
  3. 'To ensure the Brtish retain their homeland' - are they implying that someone is trying to 'take' it from us? I haven't noticed any regiments of asylum seekers with guns.
  4. 'to ensure that the British retain their identity' - the 'British' identity is chock-full of non-British elements, and everyone who isn't a racist twat would accept that it's all the better for it.
  5. 'An immediate halt to all further immigration' - see MIFLAW's posts below. This is economic suicide. If you support this policy, I hope you're not expecting to receive any NHS treatment any time this century.
  6. 'The immediate deportation of illegal immigrants' - ripping apart families.
  7. 'We will abolish the 'positive discrimination' schemes that have made white Britons second-class citizens' - that's great Nick but they don't fucking exist, you poisonous little bastard.
  8. '...asylum seekers, all of whom are either bogus or could...' etc etc. The 'bogus' stuff just isn't true, and the other half is inhumane.
policywonk · 12/07/2009 17:51

Poor FAQ made herself read the whole thing. I only bothered with the immigration bit.

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 17:52

there is no such things as "bogus" asylum seeker.

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 17:55

policy - I have sadly read it before - so already knew what ridiculous statements I was going to read - so just a skim read to reminds myself of the key ridiculous points .

You can't fight against such blatant racism and xenophobia unfortunately without knowing what exactly it is they're saying. Doesn't make easy reading but it's got to be done if you want to argue against it more successfully.

I just need to work on my debating skills

policywonk · 12/07/2009 17:56

And let's not forget (while we're kicking the BNP in the teeth, which is all very enjoyable) that this 'bogus asylum seeker' crap - which has been so pernicious - was started by the 'respectable' tabloid press, which is now attempting to distance itself from the BNP despite having provided it with a great deal of ammunition.

dp, have a look at that when you get a minute, it's a hidden camera doc done by a guy who infiltrated the bnp.

people who vote for the BNP on the basis of their caring sharing 'we're not racist, no sirree' propaganda are being lied to, this documentary demonstrates that.

but yes, we do need to listen to the people who are voting for them. and we need to help them to educate themselves not to believe the first fascist who pops up.

you never ever did answer my question as to whether you think that by addressing 'immigration' in the manner that they do, the BNP are really trying to stir up racial division in existing communities. i'm not sure why you won't answer it tbh.

saintmaybe · 12/07/2009 17:58

I think it's one thing to suggest people read it, but i'm fairly pissed off at being 'tricked' into linking to that without making that choice, tbh.

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 18:01

saintmaybe - can I suggest you have the status bar showing at the bottom of your web browser - if you do that when you hover over a link it will show you where it's going to (ie the actual web address) .

It helps avoid nasty surprises (and also means you'll never be caught out by the bat )

saintmaybe · 12/07/2009 18:02

Or did you think we'd click, read, then think, well blow me, I had no idea, what an utterly reasonable bunch they are? And with very sound traffic management policies, too', dp?

saintmaybe · 12/07/2009 18:04

Well, that nugget makes it all worthwhile

Nancy66 · 12/07/2009 18:11

I actually think it's important that people DO look at the BNP website - just so they can see how deeply unpleasant they are.

The funniest thing is in the sections where people can post comments. There's a disclaimer that says something like: 'racial abuse will not be tolerated.' ha ha ha ha

I expect that disclaimer is some sort of compulsary legal requirement.

Metella · 12/07/2009 18:13

LOL, saintmaybe!!!

The thought that racists vote for the BNP because of its traffic policies!!!!!!

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 18:18

it's important people know the BNP policies, if you don't know them you can't really comment imo....politics isn't always a nice subject.... avoiding issues is not the answer.

hercules1 · 12/07/2009 18:18

I agree, Nancy. I know what their policies are already though. Don't want to read any more muck.

hercules1 · 12/07/2009 18:20

I am well aware politics is often not a nice subject. Please don't assume you know my political background and knowledge etc. I just complete disagree with yours.

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 18:21

hercules1..i am not a BNP voter... if i was i'd tell you..

Metella · 12/07/2009 18:23

What do we need to know about BNP policies, dp?

Everyone knows that they exist to promote white supremicism - anything else they come up with is just fluff so they can pretend to be a real political party.
