I think his victory in the EU elections makes him think that he can reveal more of his true true heinous side.

How long before he starts extolling the virtue of gas chambers?

dp, you have addressed none of the counter-arguments that have been posted on here. None. Not a single one. So it's utterly unfuriating to be accused by you of not listening.

What exactly is it that we are supposed to be listening to?

Your idea of 'listening' to BNP voters is to take their racist, ignorant viewpoints and use them to construct immigration policy. No matter that everything they believe is bullshit. And when politicans seem reluctant to do this, you accuse them of not listening.

They are listening. They just don't agree.

I listen to BNP voters. And then I decide they're talking crap. I can't help it. It's called rational thought.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 12/07/2009 13:04

Listening to the BNP legitimizes their racist behavior. Listening to fear is not productive, nor does it forward the debate about legal immigration.

In any case, thought there were more British people emigrating than the numbers coming into the UK?

TheOddOne · 12/07/2009 13:07

Some on here are mistaking not agreeing with a point for not understanding the point. There is a very definite difference.

The only way you can't differentiate between the two is if you are so utterly convinced you are right you can't understand how anyone can possible disagree so you TALK A BIT LOUDER.

TheOddOne · 12/07/2009 13:08

And LOL at 'weary politeness' - so true.

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:11

ok lets just get a few things straight

  • Nick Griffin wants to sink ships carrying immigrants from North Africa

  • Some posters on this thread agree with this because the UK population is expected to increase by 7 million in the next 20yrs

  • Because of this increase we should be looking at stopping asylum seekers coming here

  • Apparently 40,000 immigrants on those ships are coming here every year and stopping them will stop the population increase due to immigration (actually most of them don't end up here but that's another point- lets just assume they do)

  • Even if the highest figures for the last decade are used (80,000 asylum seekers in one year) aslyum seekers will still only contribute 22% of the population increase.

*Using more average yearly figures (ie years that we're not waging wars on other countries - as 80,000 was the year that we invaded Iraq - and there were more Iraqi asylum seekers than any other nationality) then they'll make up 10% of the population growth.

  • This means that another 78-90% of immigrants are fine because it's the asylum seekers casuing all the problems.

(and the problems they cause must be true because the BNP says it is )

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 13:16

PW...i can't remember where i heard it...but nearly 60% of people agreed with the BNP's general policies..until they were told they were actually the BNP's policies.....the BNP are suffering from a branding problem...that's all.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 12/07/2009 13:18

Thanks for that.

What are the real figures? Not the BNP value added one?

Also, is there a way to determine the number emigrating?

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:18

what 60% of the entire population of the UK??? I find that hard to believe given how many people would be thrown out of the country if the BNP were in power.

TheOddOne · 12/07/2009 13:19

LOL @ "i can't remember where i heard it"

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:22

there are ways to determine numbers leaving

2008 article incidating nearly 2 millioin left in a decade

more than 165,000 by September last year

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:23

and yes - I've seen that 5.5 MILLION British expats living abroad before in other places too - that's a lot of British that could all suddenly decide to come back and live in the UK (or be sent back if they had a party like the BNP in power )

wahwah · 12/07/2009 13:24

DP, just goes to show how many people are fucking stupid then, if they agree with BNP general policies. I saw the thread with their family policy and even if you put your hand over the bit that says 'Racist Scum', you would be hard pushed to think it was written by anyone with a grasp of children's best interests and not misogynistic twatheads.

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 13:26

i imagine a high percentage of left-wingers wouldn't want to live on a housing estate full of somalian/afghan immigrants...

ilovemydogandmrobama · 12/07/2009 13:30

What?

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:32

are there housing estates full of Somali/Aghan immigrants (I like the way you've put them both together like they're usually found in the same areas ).

And actually wouldn't bother me in the slightest - firstly because it wouldn't be "full" of them. But because chances are it would be a wonderfully diverse area.

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 13:34

of course there are FAQ...but the leftie lovies don't live on them...they live miles away...

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:37

goodness where on earth did you get the idea that somehow Somali's and Afghans automatically end up in the same housing estates?

TheOddOne · 12/07/2009 13:39

Muslim countries FAQ - even thought they are on separate continents didn't you know they can all be put together in one pot .

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:40

oh!!!!!!! I GET it.

You mean they're full of Somali and Afghan immigrants in the same way that all council estates are full of lager drinking, drug taking, trouble making, singe parents???

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 13:40

reality....you don't seem able to stay away from me...i'm kinda flattered...but honestly, you're wasting your time...you're just not my type...

policywonk · 12/07/2009 13:44

I wouldn't want to live on an estate where the schools were crap, where a high proportion of adults had never worked, where there was a lot of anti-social behaviour, where the only shop sold shite at vastly inflated prices, where all the amenities were second-rate and/or broken, and where I got the impression that nobody cared about me or my family.

There are lots of people who live on estates like this. They deserved concerted effort and attention from our politicians. It's just migrants have absolutely nothing to do with it.

FAQinglovely · 12/07/2009 13:48

the leftie lovers dont' live on those estates.

oh - have the Tories suddenly conquered the ethnic minority vote in this country - or did they all vote for the BNP last time round???

daftpunk · 12/07/2009 13:49

PW; i agree that the breakdown of the traditional famly has caused alot of social problems...but you can't say that either because it's not PC..
