Hang on, I've got a knife in my back.

Rhubarb · 29/05/2009 13:20

Of course expat. If you read that carefully what I am saying is that I was accused of being offensive by people who were also being offensive. Which I found ironic.

noddyholder · 29/05/2009 13:21

I think right at the beginning of this thread it was mentioned that we would like to debate it without it turning into a nightmare and it was going along ok with people on both sides of the fence and nothing new or libellous from what I could see.It was only in this latter part that it got personal.

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 13:22

No, Rhubarb, I'm not 'smarting' at all.

Because I was offline entirely due to my parents' being abroad, as I pointed out later on.

Honestly, since you continue to get personal after telling me to take it to email, I'm going to ignore you entirely, because I think your strategy is to hound people off threads like this by sidetracking the topic to focus on yourself and I find that disturbing.

Rhubarb · 29/05/2009 13:23

I don't think ToughDaddy would agree with you there.

izyboy · 29/05/2009 13:23

noddy, was that ever really going to be possible with 'human nature' being in the mix?

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 13:23

He never spoke to the police, did he?

ToughDaddy · 29/05/2009 13:25

as usual, Rhubarb makes much sense on this topic (at 12:17:28 for example)

noddyholder · 29/05/2009 13:26

I think so.I don't agree with a lot of the posters here but feel no need to personally judge them about their personal lives etc just because we disagree on one subject!I have disagreed vehemently over the years with lots of people but never resorted to that kind of judgeyness.I really do believe if you can dish it out you should take it in good humour.

ToughDaddy · 29/05/2009 13:28

All-Please don't compare the hurt of being accused of causing hurt vs the hurt of being falsely accused of murdering one's own child!

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 13:28

So did he die or not?

I'm digging around BBC website till DS wakes from his nap and we can go a walk.

Rhubarb · 29/05/2009 13:29

From expat "You have brought up the other board over and over and how it upsets you. You stick the boot in all the time and speculate about why certain posters are missing."

From Noddy: "I for example would not be prone to feeling upset/hurt if some virtual friends decided to branch out and form their own chat room whereas someone else might."

You both obviously have issues with me that are nothing to do with this thread. So for you, expat, to then say that "Honestly, since you continue to get personal after telling me to take it to email, I'm going to ignore you entirely, because I think your strategy is to hound people off threads like this by sidetracking the topic to focus on yourself and I find that disturbing."
is a bit rich.

Very clever to pretend to be the bullied one and me the egomaniac. You run along then.

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 13:31

This story appears to have gone quiet.

Am still digging to see if he ever spoke to the police about this (I know he was wanted to speak to the police about another matter).

noddyholder · 29/05/2009 13:31

God I have no 'issues' with you at all.Get over yourself.I was just pointing out that everyone has a different limit on what they find hurtful.

Rhubarb · 29/05/2009 13:32

Good, that's sorted then. Shall we continue with the debate?

Portofino · 29/05/2009 13:34

Ladies please!!!!! It's Friday - can't we all calm down and start a bumsex thread instead?

Rhubarb · 29/05/2009 13:35

onager, all I can find is that 3 British paedos were being sought after by the detectives working for the McCanns. One of them was named as Raymond Hewlett. The naming of him was allowed because he was also wanted by British Police in connection with assaults in West Yorkshire.

ToughDaddy · 29/05/2009 13:35

Nor should we compare a hurt MPs wife to being falsely accused of murder of one's own child. I can't imagine what it would feel like to mourn the loss of a child. And then to compound it by people falsely writing about me murdering the child. What the other relatives? What about when the younger McC grow up and google their sister's name? The insensitivity of the (unfounded) accustations is staggering dear expatinscot. I like the MN banter and expression but I think this has crossed a serious line and find it hard to understand how people with children overlook this.

Rhubarb · 29/05/2009 13:36

Hear hear TD.

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 13:38

Porto, just got sidetracked after Bill Cash went ghetto to Alistair on stv.

It was great.

He's sooooo arrogant!

noddyholder · 29/05/2009 13:38

No one is accusing them of that! The most I said was I think they possibly didn't check with the frequency they claimed in their statements as even Gerry said that would have given an abductor only 3 mins to strike.

ToughDaddy · 29/05/2009 13:39

its nice outside Rhubard. But I have to get back to my work. I think izyboy has sensibly cleared off.

Tamarto · 29/05/2009 13:40

Apparently, he has said he will help with their enquiries, which tbh i think is very good of him considering. Heres hoping he doesn't send them off on another wild goose chase.

One of the 'detectives' thinks there is a very good chance Maddie is still in the area.

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 13:41

I didn't accuse tehm of murder, either.

I wrote that I think it's wrong to accuse others in the press and print their name and photo when the police don't even have a reason to suspect them at all.

Tamarto · 29/05/2009 13:42

No i've no idea how has said that either other than those who are defending them, which is a tad strange!
