My heart goes out to the Camerons. I am so very sad for them and the loss of their beautiful boy.

Is there any way of sending a collective MN message to them via Mumsnet HQ offering our condolences?

Kimi · 25/02/2009 18:12

No one should outlive their children.

I hadn't seen any news today, got home and saw the 6:00 headlines, am so for David and his family.
Saw a clip of Gordon Brown passing on his condolences and I got all choked up.

AnyFucker · 25/02/2009 18:40

Very, very sad.

I also thought of Riven on this news.

I thought Gordon Brown's speech was extremely moving and pitched absolutely perfectly. But then, he does speak from experience

Nabster · 25/02/2009 19:01

Nighbynight · 25/02/2009 19:23

How tragic. RIP little Ivan, and my heart goes out to his family tonight.

jardy · 25/02/2009 20:55

Heartfelt sympathy to the family in the loss of a much loved and beautiful son.
I think the speeches today and the reporting on the news has been superb.Especially by GB and WH.
I met David Cameron and his wife and family in the Cotswolds. They had loads of time to talk to me,and were friendly and wonderful. However my lasting impression is of the deep deep love and devotion and pride they had in Ivan. They clearly adored him and he responded to them(or did his very best to return their eye contact)He was the light of their lives. How they will cope now I do not know.I have been in tears all day thinking of that day in the Cotswolds when an ordinary family showed such extraordinary love and devotion, and above all pride in their gorgeous handsome son.R.I.P
