That is just so so sad

BouncingTurtle · 25/02/2009 09:43

I'm not a fan of David Cameron... but my heart goes out to him and his family. How for them. I shall remember him in my prayers.
I hope that the press will allow him and his family to deal with the grief privately.

PortofinoLovesPancakes · 25/02/2009 09:43

How terrible for the family!

ingles2 · 25/02/2009 09:43

How very very sad

streakybacon · 25/02/2009 09:44

Just seen this online. How awful for them all

abraid · 25/02/2009 09:44

Ironic and tragic that losing a child will now be the one thing that he and Gordon Brown have in common. I suppose in previous generations most families would have had the shared experience but these days it's so rare.

Flamesparrow · 25/02/2009 09:47
Sad
insertwittynicknameHERE · 25/02/2009 09:49

My heart goes out to David and his family.

BecauseImWorthIt · 25/02/2009 09:50

There was an article about him in G2 of the Guardian today, with a family picture. Unfortunate timing.

Very sorry for the family, even if he's not my favourite person.

how absolutely heartbreaking

Hassled · 25/02/2009 09:51

Oh that's awful. The poor family.

georgimama · 25/02/2009 09:51

That is so so dreadful. When DS was airlifted to hospital on Saturday (horrible fitting) I had a minute taste of what it would be like to lose a child. Poor man, his poor wife.

I am a fan of David Cameron, I think he is fab, but that is irrelevant. This is the worst thing that can happen to anyone.

MrsRecycle · 25/02/2009 09:54

am stunned - how awful for him. I met him once, a really, really nice and genuine man.

Nabster · 25/02/2009 09:56

OMG

That is just too awful for words.

Much sympathy to the whole family.

FAQinglovely · 25/02/2009 09:56

anyone else slightly at the change in wording in the headline on the front page of the BBC - changed from "eldest" son to "disabled" son (is that really relevant)

Amapoleon · 25/02/2009 09:57

How awful!

Nabster · 25/02/2009 09:58

Please let us have a thread without any negative posts.

It really doesn't need to be said whether you are a fan of his or not or matters what the headline is.

A child has died and that is just the worse thing that can happen.

RIP Ivan.

So sad.

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 25/02/2009 09:59

Agree FAQ. unnecessary, surely Ivan is still their eldest child, disabled or not.

So sad for all of them, losing a child must be horrendous.

ForeverOptimistic · 25/02/2009 09:59

How sad. The Camerons have always been so positive about his disability that I had no idea that his condition was actually life threatening.
