CompareTheMeerkat · 25/02/2009 13:00

So so sad

charlieandlola · 25/02/2009 13:09

so sad. I wonder if MNHQ can send a message of sympathy to him from us all?
Political views are irrelevant now, a 6 year old boy died this morning.

mamadiva · 25/02/2009 13:10

I did'nt actually know David Cameron had any children , after seeing this earlier I almost cried

There has been a lot about the family and Ivan's condition on TV this morning they seem such a lovely little family truly emraced Ivan as he was , I did'nt realise that there was a fatal form of epilepsy thugh that is scary.

I hope they can somehow manage to cope with this tragic loss. My thoughts are with them.

Sleep tight Ivan. x

Niecie · 25/02/2009 13:13

So sad. What a tradegy for the Cameron family.

mollyroger · 25/02/2009 13:14

Incredibly sad. And thoughts to anyone affected.

ladyhelen2 · 25/02/2009 13:16

So so sad. Am sat here in tears. The photo of Cameron holding Ivan in the Guardian article. My heart breaks for the family.

chocolatemummy · 25/02/2009 13:20

yes really shocked to see that this morning, apparently he had severe epilepsy and cerebal palsy. Didnt know of him being very unwell or anything so thinking it was a sudden deterioration.
Terrible and I guess one thing he and Gordon Brown have in common now as his baby died too didnt it

TwoIfBySea · 25/02/2009 13:23

It was evident that Ivan was a very much loved child and it was quite right that the Camerons should not have shied away from mentioning his disability. I have the upmost respect for them and for all the SN mums on here who show their dedicated love in such hard, difficult and sometimes impossible situations.

This is heartbreaking; poor wee soul. I wasn't aware of the true severity of Ivan's disability but the Camerons should be proud that for his short life they provided him with a loving, happy family who cared for him so very much.

myredcardigan · 25/02/2009 13:28

My thoughts are with them.

PrettyCandles · 25/02/2009 13:30

Ivan's legacy: a political leader with a true understanding of, sympathy for and respect for the NHS.

But what a terrible way to achieve it. Every parent's worst fear.

Alambil · 25/02/2009 13:32

oh poor child

"There is a common human bond that unites us - in sympathy..." (Brown, lunchtime news)

Too true.

So sad

squeaver · 25/02/2009 13:42

Yes Gordon Brown was very good. Very moving. And the others too. It really is heartbreaking news.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 25/02/2009 14:18

Terribly terribly sad news. My heart goes out to them all. The poor family, just looking at that Christmas photo demonstrates how much he was loved.

catMandu · 25/02/2009 14:23

very sad news, I've had the radio on all day and found myself in tears many times.

LynetteScavo · 25/02/2009 14:31

Just awful.

Peachy · 25/02/2009 14:34

So very sad, poor family.

I didn'tknow he had the additional syndrome but did realise that with his evel of diability chest infections etc were always a risk.

I too thought GB very moving, sucha terrible thing to hold in common

intheLiffey · 25/02/2009 14:38

Politics entirely irrelevant. Terribly sad. I hadn't read that that his disabilities were life threatening.

Niecie · 25/02/2009 14:43

It was a heart felt speech by GB.

He also has to live with the possibility that his younger son won't live to be an old age. A lot for any parent to deal with after losing a baby already.

intheLiffey · 25/02/2009 14:44

Yes good speech from GB, you can tell it was from the heart, no speech writer required.

belgo · 25/02/2009 14:45

How very sad for the family.

Nabster · 25/02/2009 14:46

No time at all from getting to the hospital and Ivan passing away.

So very sad.

EverSOLOlolololoLonely · 25/02/2009 15:23

Very sad. God bless little Ivan's soul.x

lyrasdaemon · 25/02/2009 15:26

Just absolutely awful. My thoughts are with DC and his family.

wasabipeanut · 25/02/2009 15:30

This is so terribly sad. I can't begin to imagine what they're going through. It makes me weep to think about it.
