Ecstacy not wose than riding a horse!

here

Love that comparison!

Our risk assessments of so many things are just way off - and society suffers as a result.

This puts the ecstatcy use into context anyway.

Now if we could have some similar ones about crime that would be fab!

tumtumtetum - shame you don't want to bring sex into it because I actually read it as 'not worse than riding a horse' as in 'bestiality' and probably in lots of ways that may be true.

rolandbrowning · 07/02/2009 20:16

I would have to draw the line at bestiality though.

tumtumtetum · 07/02/2009 20:25

Oh roland you're just sooo borringggggg....

No I wouldn't shag a horse either.

How can you compare a lovely past time like horseriding to something stupid like taking a drug...

pippylongstockings · 07/02/2009 20:31

If you don't want to do and to your mind the 'risk' is too much then I don't think anyone can argue into doing it UQD - that is not what it's about.

It is about the percieved risk vs real risk.

Which can be two very different levels - your attitude because of what you have been told by the govt or daily mail can be different to what is actually the real risk.

tumtumtetum · 07/02/2009 20:35

How can you compare a lovely past time like enjoying a pill with friends on a Friday night to something as stupid as bouncing around on top of a horse and occasionally falling off and landing on your head and then not telling your mum and dad as you are embarrassed.....

ROFL!!

tumtumtetum · 07/02/2009 20:36

lol tumtum.....well...I rather get pished than taking a stupid pill...

tbh, when I was in my raving days, I didn't even drink much alcohol (compared to now, lol )...but prefered water...but I used to have to take antihistamins ...and the amount of people that thought I was on acid or some such thing...twas hilarious....

Well my DH is deaf in one ear from falling off a horse............ maybe I'm biased!

rolandbrowning · 07/02/2009 20:45

To give a balanced view, I know someone who is deaf in one ear after standing too close to a speaker while off his tits on pills.

FairLadyRandySlut · 07/02/2009 20:48

possible pippi....I so love your id, btw..pippilongstocking movies were my fave when growing up and also loved the books...loved Astrid Lindgrens books anyway....
(am german btw, where they were she was hugely succesful)

I must have been lucky, fell of the horses often enough, never done any real damage though ...

tumtumtetum · 07/02/2009 20:49

ROFL.

I am not deaf in either ear and have both fallen off a horse and stood close to many bass speakers.

I think we're starting to get somewhere with this now, I really feel we're close to a breakthrough

A fair and balnce poll

rolandbrowning · 07/02/2009 21:26

So to sum up, taking ecstasy is not particularly dangerous, neither is horseriding, both are fun, there is no logical reason why E is illegal when other more dangerous substances are not, and people's objections to others drug use don't seem to be founded in logic.

tumtumtetum · 07/02/2009 21:36

You missed "both may make you deaf in one ear"

UnquietDad · 08/02/2009 11:58

I don't read the Daily Mail, thanks. Amusing that this assumption is people's knee-jerk reaction to any non-trendy opinion on here: "oh, you must have got that from the Daily Mail."

There is one thing, though. Having heard some of the music people listen to while dancing in clubs, there is only one way that kind of shit can possibly sound tolerable, and that's off your face on drugs.

rolandbrowning · 08/02/2009 12:19

UQD, so your main argument is that you think that people who take drugs think they are cool, you think it is a trendy opinion to say that some drugs are not very dangerous (although surely this is born out in fact: not many people die while taking e, apparently about the same as are killed while horse riding) and here's the killer: some people like shit music (or music you don't like) Does that sum up your argument?
