Ecstacy not wose than riding a horse!

here

Love that comparison!

Our risk assessments of so many things are just way off - and society suffers as a result.

This puts the ecstatcy use into context anyway.

Now if we could have some similar ones about crime that would be fab!

500K number of people taking Es every weekend in the UK is not 'anecdotal', actually. It's very widely quoted by serious news sources.

"You carry on"

I think I said several times on this thread and elsewhere that it's been several years since I last did any, so not carrying on with anything unfortunately.

CoteDAzur · 09/02/2009 17:06

noddy - Unlikely, but you never know. I never lived in the UK but at some point was visiting London fairly often on business trips & staying for parties on the weekend. This was 1999-2000.

georgimama · 09/02/2009 17:07

Um, asking the police would come under the definition of anecdotal.

Dangerous and stupid to ride a horse? Absolutely, it can be.

You can't compare the risk adequately, because as I've said, there have been no clinical trials.

As I said, riding a horse is an exercise of the rider's judgmental and skill (or lack of). Anything could be in a pill.

Pop away, just don't be deluded about what you are potentially doing to yourselves.

noddyholder · 09/02/2009 17:09

cote that was my time too!But I did live in London.Every time you take any pill from the doctor that you haven't had before you are at risk.

CoteDAzur · 09/02/2009 17:12

"how do you define something as dangerous and stupid though?"

Imo, you need to do a risk/benefit analysis.

Cigarettes lead to an early grave in majority of smokers, and the pleasure you get from it is nothing much. So probably not only dangerous but stupid (High risk, low benefit)

Flying is very useful, and is dangerous only very rarely, so slightly dangerous but not stupid (low risk, high benefit)

Occasional partying on recreational substances - having seen their effects on countless people, friends and strangers, not to mention personal experience, I would say it is not stupid at all. (low risk, high benefit).

Of course everyone has to do their own risk/benefit analysis, because everyone has a different level of risk tolerance.

"riding a horse is an exercise of the rider's judgmental and skill (or lack of)"

Yeah, well, Christopher Reeve was by all accounts a very skilled rider.

So there is an element of luck there, as with all things.

CoteDAzur · 09/02/2009 17:16

noddy - We may have crossed paths, then. Wouldn't that be funny

The cross and the milk bar were my faves

CoteDAzur · 09/02/2009 17:30

I've been to the Cross quite a few times.

Quite liked The Fridge, as well. Friday nights 'Escape from Samsara', if I recall correctly

Ibiza?

Not on my ward. We'd all be going on coach mystery tours (to Whitby - as always!)

Music?

CoteDAzur · 09/02/2009 21:50

Chewing gum?

Monkeytrousers · 10/02/2009 08:30

No, I'll just bite my nails

Monkeytrousers · 10/02/2009 08:33

You know, I hardly took e socially. It was more with my partner at the time and we would generally go for a long midnight walk along the beach and then get a room - and get very loved up.

CoteDAzur · 10/02/2009 15:30

Yes, that is good, too. Sex on E - yes, it brings back some happy memories

rolandbrowning · 10/02/2009 18:25

Has anyone had sex on a horse though?

tumtumtetum · 10/02/2009 19:42

roland - first sex with a horse now sex on a horse.

Is there something you want to tell us

Its my drug-addled brain.

alicecrail · 10/02/2009 20:28

My worst injury was being trampled by a horse - not riding! safer on top in my opinion

tumtumtetum · 10/02/2009 20:38

alice after roland's question your answer sounds a bit, um, dodgy
