Most of the Intel microprocessors are produced in Intel's factory in Israel

bobthebuddha · 23/09/2014 17:18

I had a very quick look at your list MexicanSpringtime. Procter and Gamble sounds particularly evil, doesn't it. Donations to support disabled children and hospitals indeed!
Which other countries are you boycotting, out of interest?

SamG76 · 23/09/2014 17:21

Mexican Springtime - that website is stooping pretty low. Look at this entry for for Proctor and Gamble:

on its Israeli website announces that the corporation gives “Generous donations to [Israeli] organizations, “especially for disabled children” evil

gives donations of “Tens of thousands of product units,” (i.e. Always and Alldays feminine pads), to various Israeli hospitals and schools; shocking funds the awarding a prize for the best clinical research in the field of dermatology in order “to encourage the level of research and to improve the quality of life in Israel” disgraceful
gives donations to the Ramat Gan Safari (a zoo) as a way “to support relationships between children and their parents” unspeakable
funds educational projects for teenage girls, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, on the subject of sexual maturity I can't believe this - what depravity
cooperates with and donates to the Quality Week of the Israel Technical Institution. beyond the pale

Clearly nothing short of a full boycott for this terrible organisation, which makes the Murdoch empire look like the Medecins sans frontieres. Do you really take this content seriously?

maami · 23/09/2014 17:25

Missunreasonable: i retract my statement.. You are not a thief.. Nor into stolen goods. Only bloody matzos...:-)

bobthebuddha · 23/09/2014 17:26

SamG76, I suppose they must be evil disabled children, what with being born Israeli....

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 17:39

That made me laugh Sam although it really is very sad

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 17:42

Maami. I think you're the only one who found your post about drinking Palestinian babies' blood amusing. Most people would be ashamed.

ThisOneAndThatOne · 23/09/2014 17:46

At 17:25 Maami you put a little :-) after bloody Matzos.

I don't really get what the smiley face is about. Care to explain?

maami · 23/09/2014 18:02

Nope i find buying israeli products especially stolen goods like kedem sell quite sickening.

The baby blood is the reference to supporting israeli occupation= suporting the death of palwetinian babies. Nothing to do with medival jews or watnot.

bobthebuddha · 23/09/2014 18:13

"Nothing to do with medival jews or watnot."

Riiight Hmm

maami · 23/09/2014 18:15

Thisoneandthatone: read shakshuka and missunreasonable post 16.06 and 16.10.

maami · 23/09/2014 18:18

And...?

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 18:22

You're either pretty thick or intentionally offensive to not get the association with drinking babies' blood

maami · 23/09/2014 18:27

Why? Is it beyond your ability to differentiate?

bobthebuddha · 23/09/2014 18:35

It's clearly deliberate. And it's a shabby game, maami.

maami · 23/09/2014 18:41

Nope...not really. I stand by everything i said....the fact that you guys cant process the difference...is your problem not mine.

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 19:36

Well, someone did report your post maami and mnhq thought it offensive.

Its a characteristic of extremists that everyone else is always wrong and only they have the moral high ground no matter what.

maami · 23/09/2014 21:25

Erm.. a pro war criminal labeling others as extremists.. Lol yeah.. Right.

Still.. The other posts still stands...hence obv not offensive as your wailing.

Long live the boycott... :).

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 21:58

Pro war criminal?

You also called me pro Nazi on anothr thread.

Because i dont agree with you.

And i apparently drink Palestinian babies' blood because i own a soda stream.

Yep, extremist in my book.

Anyway, off to book my tickets to israel for Christmas with Turkish Airlines. They have two flights a day to Tel Aviv.

Keep on undermining the peace process with your ineffective boycott.

I note that no one answered the question about which other countries are boycotted. Twas always thus.

SamG76 · 23/09/2014 22:53

Maami - your claim about the blood libel is about as convincing as a cartoonist who drew black politicians as cannibals with bones through their noses and white people in a cauldron, and then saying he didn't reaoise this was a racist depiction. If you've thought it up yourself that makes it even worse.....

maami · 23/09/2014 23:53

Oh I will shakshuka...dont worry about that.you still havent mentioned any other effective way.. Just wailing about how it will undermine the left..

Firstly... The majority of israelis supported the massacre in gaza.. Around 80%.... Infact they were upset about the ceasefire being too early...hence the left dont seem to have any influence whatsoever... Esp since netenyahoo is very popular. So they are largely irrelevant in the scheme of things.

Secondly; the previous massacre in gaza.. Operation cast lead...was not committed by the right was it..? Livini was in power back then and still comitted pretty horrendous war crimes...in gaza and lebanon!

So until someone comes up with a better solution.. Then boycott divest sanction it will be.. !

maami · 24/09/2014 00:06

...and judging by the number of people jumping on this thread calling it ineffective and unfair... Its quite obvious the BDS is hitting a raw nerve. :)

Shakshuka · 24/09/2014 00:28

Has there been one policy change due to bds? Nope. Thus ineffective.

In fact, there's a direct correlation between bds and things getting worse politically in Israel (but better economically).

Tzipi Livni was never in power. Nor is she left wing. I think you're demonstrating the extent of your knowledge of Israeli politics. Which website did you get your misinformation from? Bds?

Hamas and the second intifada plus extremism such as yours have destroyed the Israeli left unfortunately. It needs to be built up and supported along with civil society. Similar actions are needed on the Palestinian side.

Imo, bds is undermining the peace process, or what remains of it.

You've already been shown how ineffective it is and how destructive to the Israeli left. You gleefully announce that you don't care. This boycott is clearly about making the boycotters feel good rather than actually achieving anything meaningful (thankfully, since bds call for the destruction of the state of Israel - aiming high!)

thecatfromjapan · 24/09/2014 00:31

I'm still boycotting.
As I always say, I remember all these arguments being rolled out to discourage people protesting against apartheid in South Africa.Smile

Shakshuka · 24/09/2014 00:35

Maami

Why won't you say which other countries you're boycotting?

Russia?

Or China perhaps?

Why the obsession with Israel? It's certainly not the worst human rights abuser.

I had heard it suggested that it's because Israel is a western liberal democracy, ie that change can happen in the polling booth and through Israel's active civil society. But that would involve admitting that Israel isn't the great Satan...
