Seeker.

OP posts:

No, I'm saving the baby's blood to make matzo for Passover.

Doesnt take long to get to the real motives behind much of the bds movement, does it?

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 16:10

Could I share some of the matzo....it sounds delicious.

maami · 23/09/2014 16:11

Poor me poor me pour me a drink!

Branleuse · 23/09/2014 16:15

I am going to boycott Julie Burchill.

Just doing my bit

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 16:19

Can I share some of the drink maami, it would go down nicely with shatshukas matzo.

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 16:20

And, for the record, i think the Israeli occupation is wrong. Ending the occupation and reaching a sustainable peace with the Palestinians is essential for both Israelis and Palestinians.

But i think the boycott is unfair, singling out Israel despite far worse human rights abuses in many other countries, ineffective and counter productive as it undermines the Israeli left .

The boycott is far more about boycotters feeling good about themselves than achieving change.

maami · 23/09/2014 16:24

Nope... You might steal that too.

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 16:25

The boycott is far more about boycotters feeling good about themselves than achieving change.

^^this. And it kind of proves the point when those boycotting are not even aware of current protests and relevant situations.

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 16:27

Nope... You might steal that too.

Why what was the first thing that I have stolen? Please read my posts and identify the part where it states I have stolen anything or used or purchased anything that you believe I have stolen.
Talk about making things up.

maami · 23/09/2014 16:31

Imo it is the ONLY productive and peaceful way that is likely to have an effect. It worked in south africa...it will work here again. How will it undermine the left? They are already undermined...they hardly have a voice.

Still What other way do you suggest that will work more effectively..?

maami · 23/09/2014 16:40

Missunreasonable:

You did claim to enjoy buying stolen goods from kedem no? Hence the idea that you might be into that sort of thing..

ThisOneAndThatOne · 23/09/2014 16:45

I have thought about reporting your last posts maami

But on reflection, I think they should stay as a record of what the BDS movement are really about.

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 16:49

Dont report it. . Let it stay. Althoughi suspect maami may ask for it to be deleted if s/he has any shame.

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 16:49

No I did not say that I bought any kedem products. Go back and read my post. I said that I wasn't aware of kedem until the protests and when I looked I realised that they sold luxury products that had rave reviews and that some people had bought things from them after being made aware they existed due to the protests.
I did not say I purchased anything. Do not make things up. Learn to read things properly.

maami · 23/09/2014 16:50

Reflect on this: buying goods knowingly stolen from the palestinians.. is STOLEN GOODS whichever way you look at it.

ThisOneAndThatOne · 23/09/2014 16:50

And to be clear I am referring to her posts of 15:50 and the one after that which are now on the previous page

glasshouses · 23/09/2014 16:56

can i ask how many of you will stop using your mobile phones as they all use technology developed in israel?

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 16:58

Reflect on this: buying goods knowingly stolen from the palestinians.. is STOLEN GOODS whichever way you look at it.

FFS learn to read and stop pretending that I bought anything from kedem.

maami · 23/09/2014 17:00

Can i ask you to bring forth some evidence rather than hot air?

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 17:02

It undermines the Israeli left since most Israelis, quite rightly, see the bds movement as unfairly singling out and demonizing Israel.

This means that the israeli left have to defend themselves from being associated with movements like bds, which openly support the destruction of the state of israel.

It makes it far harder to acheive change internally and encourages a bunker mentality.

Israel was bboycotted from 1948 to the 1990s. It made no difference then either.

Missunreasonable · 23/09/2014 17:05

Can i ask you to bring forth some evidence rather than hot air?

Could you do the same about your claims of me buying stolen goods.

MexicanSpringtime · 23/09/2014 17:06

Yes, I am now in need of a new shampoo because I always use a Garnier product, and that is on the list of companies that support the IDF

www.mindsoupblog.com/2010/11/worldwide-companies-that-fund-israel.html

Shakshuka · 23/09/2014 17:08

And about UEFA.

A quick search shows that 'the only 6 counties' is 6 out of 19, including counties like Sweden.

A look at Israel's proposal in the report shows it was quite crap compared to others.

Pretty disingenuous (and desperate) for the bds movement to claim credit for Israel not hosting UEFA 2020.

Israel's not hosting the Olympics either :)

ThisOneAndThatOne · 23/09/2014 17:14

Maami, I think a $6bn deal with Intel as linked to earlier is not hot air.

That's an awful lot of processors and computer equipment to avoid.

ThisOneAndThatOne · 23/09/2014 17:16

How does a shampoo support the IDF?
