Paedophile to be deported to UK

A British paedophile who has spent 37 years in an Australian jail is to be deported to the UK, officials said. UK-born Robert Excell, 66, who moved to Australia when he was ten, will be flown home as soon as he has the necessary travel documents, said a spokesman for the Western Australia Justice Department. Excell, who emigrated to Australia as a child but never became a citizen, was serving an indeterminate sentence at the State Governor's pleasure after a string of sex attacks on boys.

What do you think?

HA! that was exactly what was going through the GB govt's mind 250 years ago.

I hope his face is all over news bulletins in the UK and someone in the system steps up and makes it their personal responsibility to watch this shit day and night and come down on him with the full force of the law (HA again) if he even so much as touches another child

nobody has the answer for these people , willy cutting, forehead tatooing, hand removal, eye burning, are just afew thinbgs I would do. I am a great believer in medical help but sometimes poeple crimes are too disgusting for them to receive help.

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 12:49

SW was there a big uproar when it was known he was near end of sentance?

btw I totally agree he should come here rather than in WA community

BUT I think he should be put in prision here rather than just free

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 12:51

Well it's interesting that they don't mind putting people who may or may not be terrorists under house arrest, but known peadophile offenders who are absolutely certainly a risk to children is not something they can do anything about.

I wonder if they could use the legislation they've just passed to put him (and other convicted paedophiles) under the same sort of house arrest that they want to put untried people under?

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 13:00

tattoo forehead then ensure head is shaven by a police offer or similar every two weeks so they in the end close themselves into their own prison ! banished from shops, and nobody will serve them , talk to or sit next to they may put themseves out of their own misery and be dammed to hell forever. !!!!!

RTkangamummy what do you think they should have done ? and what do other MNtters think should be done to these monsters ?
Bump

GeorginaA · 23/03/2005 13:26

I don't see how house arrest would help, tbh. The electronic tagging scheme has already proved to be farcical with prisoners removing their tags for over a month with no follow up from the monitoring companies.

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 13:28

Deffo think that they should be castrated

Not with medicine though

by a surgeon

OP posts:
Tinker · 23/03/2005 13:35

Wouldn't worry too much about it. There are enough dickheads around who feel they should take the law into their own hands anyway. And so waht if they get it wrong sometimes like here

morningpaper · 23/03/2005 13:37

If he's served his sentence what's the problem? Do we think all paedophiles should be locked up forever? I think our taxes would rise a bit if that happened...

People like this are kept a CLOSE EYE on and having worked with similar situations in the past, as soon as they talk to a child they are back in prison. For some I think the conditions are actually too harsh.

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 13:39

I think that this guy is different though

He is deffo the right man

IYSWIM

Anyway if he was operrated on before release If I understand it correctly the "urge" won't be there

Also if people knew that he had been taken care of and that it worked then he should be ok to be free

If I am wrong I will stand corrected

NomDePlume · 23/03/2005 13:39

MorningPaper, I think the point is not that all paedophiles should be locked up without any attempt at 2nd chances or rehabilitation, but that this particular man has been released THREE times & has REOFFENDED THREE TIMES. This man is surely one individual who cannot be rehabilitated ?

morningpaper · 23/03/2005 13:40

Hmm I don't think that actually removing their bollocks is permitted ... except maybe in Saudi Arabia...

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 13:41

So you would feel happy to have this particular bloke living next door would you?

Cos he has been in prison and served his time you wouldn't mind then?

OP posts:
morningpaper · 23/03/2005 13:41

I think we seem to have very little faith in the system... he will be under such surveillance that if he does anything he will be banged up.

RTKangaMummy · 23/03/2005 13:42

MP I meant that to surgically remove rather than tablets cos they wouldn't take them

Also they don't thingk they are doing anythiong wrong

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 23/03/2005 13:43

mp - I've lost faith in surveillance since I learned about electronic tagging, tbh. Not sure what the best solution would be though.

NomDePlume · 23/03/2005 13:43

Is that right ? How come other paedophiles who are released reoffend then ? What good is the 'surveillance' for the individual he abuses/assaults ?
