Paedophile to be deported to UK

A British paedophile who has spent 37 years in an Australian jail is to be deported to the UK, officials said. UK-born Robert Excell, 66, who moved to Australia when he was ten, will be flown home as soon as he has the necessary travel documents, said a spokesman for the Western Australia Justice Department. Excell, who emigrated to Australia as a child but never became a citizen, was serving an indeterminate sentence at the State Governor's pleasure after a string of sex attacks on boys.

What do you think?

yes it seems this chap has escaped 4 times before, murdering a young couple before being recaptured last time

WA justice system would not appear to be able to find its arse with both hands

Shit.

but enough about me

F knows

it's not as if none of these people in authority have children

did you read in the news about childless people being angry that they have to pay taxes too educate children. they think that parents are being selfish by making babies and then making others pay for them.
i think that judges are mostly people of such mindsets. only working from analogy here. but a company swindled out of millions is going to kick up more of a fuss than an assaulted child. hence the poowers that be deal with that rather than the abused.
just my opinion

Serious question

Why do you think that this type of crime is not taken as seriously by the justice system as it is by parents?

sw, I think there are several in my road. Recently we were all anonomously leafleted about a supposed paedophile living 2 doors away . I can imagine all the naked children frolicking on the beach makes a coastal resort the ideal place for some paeds, it makes me feel sick.

I wish the gov would build more prisons and keep these repeat offenders banged up for life.

Hastings does have loads of them

One was a security guard at soft play area place

Everyone knew about it

Never went there kept DS well away.

Another was a children's entertainer

These were convited men just out of prison so it was not just gossip

After several convictions but they are only in prison for few years

bunny3, they do seem to head to the south coast don't they. I take the kids to visit a mate of mine who lives in Hastings and I'm always struck by the amount of single men who seem to gravitate towards children's areas. She lets her 4 year old girl run around naked on the beach, nothing wrong with that if it 's your own private beach but not appropriate IMO in public. Although paedophiles go for children that they can establish regular contact with i.e. Not day trippers or closely supervised children, the thought of some freak getting his rocks off whilst looking at my child makes me feel murderous.

this man raped other prisoners whilst detained. If he can manage to do that, he is certainly capable of raping when released. It is only a matter of when. I hope he isnt going to come here to Bournemouth we have the highest concentration of paeds apparently.

I don't know why these men don't volunteer themselves for castration as surely taking the urge away would not only make the streets safer but would give paedophiles themselves a sort of peace

Haven't read all the thread, so sorry. But I feel, good on Australia for keeping him locked up for so long. Glad they take this sort of stuff seriously. The cases you here about of paedophiles in the UK, only seem to get a few years anyway. I am quite often astounded by the pathetic sentences they end up with, quite often even halving them for good behaviour.

Exactly Hula. I think there's a difference between talking in general and in particular.

I still can't undersatnd why it this man has reoffended so many times before, why they would consider releasing him at all? Surely he has and his chances to show rehabilitation - and he was unable too.

I am all for rehabilitation yes (let's face it, i part of the reason I do my new job!) but this man is not likely to suddenly rehabilitated if he hasn't already.

FFS - I find men sexually attractive but if it was suddenly illegal and immoral then I could very easily contain my urges and go and get help, anyone can do that.

He's reoffended so much, he's obviously not sorry. I'd like to bash him to death but thats not a civilised answer. But they could lock him up for life, or better, as someone suggested, shove him on a remote island and let him take his chances. Why should we pay to look after him, he, and anyone like him, can do a penal version of 'Castaway' and look after themselves. Hell, just put some cameras on the island too, sell it to Channel 4 to repalce Big Brother and MAKE some money out of the criminals!!

Report
emmatmg · 24/03/2005 10:14

On GMTV this morning they said he won't be comingback until July now as the UK police are investigating an incident of sexual assault on a teenage inmate by this man.

FFS....and they want to release him......I'm speechless.

The chap being interviewed was a "supporter" of Excell (WHY????) and said "he's been in therpy and councilling for 23 yrs to cope and manage with teh crimes his commited and has been pacing his cell in torture and anguish"

Well, I'm sorry if this is OTT but I should fu*king well hope so. I would imagine that his victims have been though a whole lot more torture and anguish at the hands of this anmial than he'll ever be.

What a load of bollocks.....he'll come back, be on the registar and live a free man and I'll eat my hat if he doesn't re-offend. FFS he did when he's been released and has when he's been locked up. What hope is there?

Pixifish, I saw that programme too. I vividly remember one scene where this "THING" was being interviewed saying "I just like anyone else, you find men sexually attractive, that man might find ather man attractive, and I find children sexually attractive....why is that wrong?"
