The OW looks hard as nails, has written a book on being a 'professional mistress'. Just why am I not surprised? Hailed as celebrity family of the year. What a joke. Poor Tana, hope she gets her pound of flesh out of him.

Just what does a man need? A beautiful wife, 4 lovely, healthy kids, a thriving business empire, money galore...and throwing it all away for a serial mistress that looks cold as ice and calculating.

Makes you depressed, doesn't it?

A Balmoral baby is so romantic.

BitOfFun · 23/11/2008 22:54

Who are the christmas ads for? I bet that client is pissed off!

edam · 23/11/2008 23:00

Balmoral - not at all romantic when the baby's mother goes into revolting detail about being afraid to pack her 'contraceptive equipment'.

hf128219 · 23/11/2008 23:05

But is everything you read true?

GreenMonkies · 24/11/2008 08:00

Contraceptive equipment???? What on earth is that??

thegrowlygus · 24/11/2008 08:19

Oooooh I met a journo from the NOTW back in September who told me about this and said that they couldn't publish until they had 'proof' as GR would sue for sure.

Pigstyle · 24/11/2008 08:31

Well maybe poor Tana is fully aware of it and they have an "agreement".
Think it was Carmenere who said the same.

WHo knows what they get up to with their poppers and pringles-maybe it's something Tana just doesn't fancy and has told him to "get" elsewhere?

Miggsie · 24/11/2008 08:33

...I've never liked GR after he was quoted as saying he worked 23 hours days away from home while his wife loked after the kids "as women are better at that sort of thing" at which I thought "you sexist shite, you can't be arsed, can you?"
I felt sorry for his wife then.

I'm not falling over with shock he's played away from home. But it is awful that he has "traded" on being a family man, it's like Antonio Carluccio turning out to actually be Australian...

I do think GR should have been a bit more discreet than to shag a woman who does it for financial gain tho'.

puppydavies · 24/11/2008 08:43

lol @ poppers and pringles. classy :D

expatinscotland · 24/11/2008 08:44

So, did it all turn out to be true?

GrabShellDude · 24/11/2008 08:51

Looks like it Expat. I find it slightly disappointing for some reason but not that surprising.

Wannabe, what is this thing about Phil Vickery??!! Spill!

expatinscotland · 24/11/2008 08:52

Eewww.

Not surprising, though.

Maybe Tana would rather just have the money and have him bog off elsewhere.

Maybe he's a real git to live with.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 24/11/2008 08:58

hang on he's gonna sue them. hmm what do we think?? trying to cover his tracks??

alls I can say is poor tana she seemed sucha lovely lady when she was on here that time.

serial mistress to mean = slut who can't find her own man so has to go to others and wreck their homes instead. coupled with loose morals and no standards! ahem sorry slight rant there.

TheSeriousOne · 24/11/2008 09:13

I know there is a lot of C-R-A-P written in lots of newspapers and magazines, but I don't think the NOTW would go to press with that sort of a story without some pretty firm evidence.

As someone said, this story has circulated for a while and his 'management' have always managed to play it down and keep it out of the press.

cupsoftea · 24/11/2008 10:19

How awful for her -

Hope you get things sorted Tana xxx

GreenMonkies · 24/11/2008 11:19

"Gordon and his wife of 12 years Tana, as saying they were considering suing tabloid News of the World, which ran the front page allegations."

Considering and could, not will or are, if someone printed something this damaging about me that was not true I'd be seeing my lawyer within the hour and have some kind of papers on thier (the NOTW) desk first thing this morning. I'd not be considering it, I'd have already done it!

janinlondon · 24/11/2008 11:22

Its an interesting one.....Doesn't Tana's Dad look after all the money....???

snowleopard · 24/11/2008 11:31

I thought this sort of thing was well-known about him? (allegedly?) Or maybe it is just on MN that I've seen it said...

I have been thinking that he was heading for a fall. Just how many ad campaigns and telly programmes and restaurant openings can one person be involved with full stop - let along while claiming to be at home every night with their family for cosy suppers and be such a big family man? Has struck me as a heap of bolleaux for a while now.

snowleopard · 24/11/2008 11:41

And where's nailpolish with her considered opinion?

mayorquimby · 24/11/2008 11:43

"I know there is a lot of C-R-A-P written in lots of newspapers and magazines, but I don't think the NOTW would go to press with that sort of a story without some pretty firm evidence. "

surely their fim evidence (as far as legal protection goes) is that thewoman has written book. as such they are not the ones who are publishing it they are meely repeating allegations. take the john leslie case yars ago, no one would mention any names as then they would be legally vulnerable to libel suits. but as soon as one paper mentione his name (can't remember who it was) it was open sason as every media outlet cold simplyquote the first one who mentioned it. ie. it was reported today in the (insert paper name) that john leslie has been named as the attacker.

so now the NOTW have exactly the same defence.

Alexa808 · 24/11/2008 11:49

Libel is libel even if a publisher is repeating accusations.

mayorquimby · 24/11/2008 11:55

oh cheers. fair enough. i just presumed they would have gotten some form of contract from the woman that she was liable for any damages as they were essentially promoting her book.

that's how someone explained the leslie thing to me before so that's obviously how i got confused.thans for clearing it up.

Maiakins · 24/11/2008 12:09

It seems like Gordon is refusing to comment and isn't suing. The papers today are full of pictures of them smiling and putting on a brave face - reminds me of Tory scandals of the 90s. Brand Ramsay will definitely suffer ... all that stuff about being a family man and trotting out his wife/kids on his TV shows. Urgh, what a hypocrite. I can just about get my head around him having a 7 year affair, perhaps Tana was aware, who knows. But what a trampy woman this Sarah Symonds is! And how tacky - pringles and s*x. I for one won't be watching his shows or buying his books anymore!

LouMacca · 24/11/2008 12:23

Poor Tana. I so hope she doesn't go down the Cheryl Cole/Victoria Beckham road of staying with the pig after this. It is so humiliating for her especially as he has always bigged himself up as the devoted family man.

I am amazed its been kept quiet for so long. Also amazed how he has found the time!!

mabanana · 24/11/2008 12:31

mayorquimby, the NOW story was not just talking about stuff in her book at all. It was saying they had sex at a specific time and location. I am sure they have shedloads of evidence, otherwise GR could successfully sue them for millions, precisely because so much of his image is based on his standing as a husband and father.
