The OW looks hard as nails, has written a book on being a 'professional mistress'. Just why am I not surprised? Hailed as celebrity family of the year. What a joke. Poor Tana, hope she gets her pound of flesh out of him.

Just what does a man need? A beautiful wife, 4 lovely, healthy kids, a thriving business empire, money galore...and throwing it all away for a serial mistress that looks cold as ice and calculating.

Makes you depressed, doesn't it?

what a twat

Alexa808 · 23/11/2008 10:29

Freedom of press? Having a liar exposed?

I see what you mean with his wife waking up to it and the kids. But don't you think she knew before the story got published?

i thought this was going to be about him using a tin of chopped tomatoes instead of fresh.

he is an egotistic nobber. She always seems compliant and too nice for him.

bythepowerofgreyskull · 23/11/2008 10:32

Alexa very often the phone call comes at very last thing once the paper has gone to print

pooka · 23/11/2008 10:34

It tricky. I don't buy or read NOTW or other red tops.

But should the NOTW not publish, not make it public for the sake of the family? Would that leave Tana none the wiser? Or is it being suggested that rather than publish the info that could boost the sales of the newspaper, the NOTW should act rather as a concerned friend, privately contacting Tana and NOT publishing? Because that will never happen.

pooka · 23/11/2008 10:36

NOt that I am for a moment casing the NOTW as a friendly and concerned publication. BUt I can see of course why they have published, and how they will justify it (self-proclaimed family man, using that as a ploy to increase marketability, is actually cheating git). ANd I think it is idealistic and unrealistic to expect anything else.

and do you think that his children's friends' parents knew too? and their teachers? you know, the ones that have to teach them at school tomorrow knowing what has been published about their parents i the tabloids?

FGS he is a chef, not someone whose lifestyle choices will affect the country or anything. If he's shagged someone else then it's nobody else's business other than his family's. perhaps we should throw into the balance that Tana Ramsay cheated on her partner at the time with GR? So are they now equal? ?

I think it's very telling that none of this has been printed in any of the other papers, not even mentioned. Would bet money on it not being true, and I hope GR sue's their arses.

Alexa808 · 23/11/2008 10:38

I think it's fair to say that the Uk press has always been a lot more aggressive and 'free' when it comes to reporting than their continental equivalents.

bythepower: I didn't know. Something along the lines of: 'BTW,...' I suspect.

Still, I cannot feel pity for Gordon, he knows he's a public figure, he willingly made a fool out of himself. And dragged his wife and kids into it.

OP posts:
pooka · 23/11/2008 10:39

How about Gordon Ramsey doesn't conduct affair, or perhaps doesn't market himself as devoted family man?

Not condoning the NOTW. Never read it, vile rag that it is. But I can see that the paper gives its readers what they want - salacious stories about famous people.

pooka · 23/11/2008 10:40

And I hope that it isn't true and that he is then able to sue their arses off too.

TheNewsMongrel · 23/11/2008 10:40

He's an alpha male. I also believed that they had a good marriage, possibly they DO, and that makes him an even bigger idiot.

He risked a very good marriage for shabby sex vixeny type woman.

Gordon the fucking cliche yawn. You've gone down in everybody's estimation.

daftpunk · 23/11/2008 10:44

his wife will forgive him...they usually do.

wannaBe · 23/11/2008 10:47

"Still, I cannot feel pity for Gordon, he knows he's a public figure, he willingly made a fool out of himself. And dragged his wife and kids into it." and what if it isn't true? As a public figure should you be liable to have anything written about you regardless?

The NOTW appeals to the lowest common denominator. The people who are too thick to realize that there's always a chance it's not true (more chance in fact that it isn't than is.) and if it's not true they'll publish a page 13 apology which no-one will see and by then someone's reputation has already been ruined.

TheNewsMongrel · 23/11/2008 10:51

I'm always amazed by how married women cling to their husbands/marriages. Do they fear life as a single woman so much? Or do they imagine it to be so lonely and so dreadful?

Tana is only 33, beautiful, and wealthy in her own right. She could leave and get a lot more out of life. Her children would have more respect for. THey'll still see their Dad. They KNOW anyway that their father cheated. Or soon will know.

Leave him Tana. Leave him. Leave him.

BrotherPan · 23/11/2008 10:52

I luuurve the word "tryst". It makes you wnat to have one without quit knowing what one is!

"Sorry darling, I'm in the bathroom having a tryst."

"Hmm..it all sounds so gorgeous. But yes, as a starter I'll have the tryst please".

"Yes madam, it the new Vauxhall Tryst...."

asdmumandteacher · 23/11/2008 10:52

Men ruled by their appendages - well theres a surprise!

BrotherPan · 23/11/2008 10:54

Woman making sweeping generalisation about men. Even BIGGER surprise!

Carmenere · 23/11/2008 10:55

GR having an affair is hardly suprising or hardly newsworthy. The only reason that this is a 'story' is because he and Tana have brought their family into the public eye. They have tried to market themselves as a brand, he is always wittering on about shagging her ect, it is part of their public image.
It is humiliating for her and bloody horrible for the children (and her dad is GR business partner)
But we don't know what goes on between them as a couple, she might have known about this, perhaps she doesn't fancy an arrogant egomaniac him any more. Perhaps she is totally fine with it and just wanted her own career and wasn't going to get that as GR's ex?
All pure speculation.

solidgoldbrass · 23/11/2008 10:59

Thing is, for all we (or any one else, the NOTW or the NOTW readers) know, this could have been a relationship that Tania Ramsay knew about and accepted, or she could have found out about it and they could be working on repairing their marriage - but once it's in the public domain it becomes much more of a mess because every muppet else starts piling in with advice (nearly all of which will be based on the monogamy cult rather than letting people sort it out in the way that suits them ie if you are 'wronged' you have to play yourself as a victim/commit assault and criminal damage/do the pious martyr act) and you can't just deal with things.

Alexa808 · 23/11/2008 11:00

I guess having stories (true or untrue) written about you is something you willingly accept when you're a public figure. Don't forget that he's quite happy to sell his 'lovey dovey' family life out to all the other mags.

Well, I guess if one is intelligent enough one is able to see NOTW for what it is, you can make up your own opinion about their stories.

FWIW, I don't think married women are afraid of being single. It's just having spent years with a person you loved and had children with, happy memories and dreams, you'd rather keep your status quo, no?

OP posts:
totalmisfit · 23/11/2008 11:04

i'm not surprised. he's made a name for himself by being an arsehole and lo and behold it's not just an act after all.

TheNewsMongrel · 23/11/2008 11:05

Amounts to similar I think. I was there. I know. And then whem I left it was like a bag lifted off my eyes. I discovered 'the secret'; that being single is better than being in all but a very happy equal functioning relationship. Anything less; better to be single. I think a lot of people stumble forward out of habit or fear.

daftpunk · 23/11/2008 11:09

they'll survive...posh and becks did....and tbh, who really cares what some "celebrity chef" does on his nights off ?

Cocodrillo · 23/11/2008 11:10

White wine, crisps and poppers? Classy.

Just glad it's not the venerable St Jamie

Always assumed GR would be sharing his dick around.
