There are hardly two Sabina Erikssons, aged 40, Swedish nationals with addresses in Mallow, County Cork, Ireland.

So I suppose you must be right FAQ, and she survived two apparant suicide attempts.

Yeni · 26/09/2008 19:05

Who knows then? Everything I found suggested all the incidents took place on the 20th May.

FAQ · 26/09/2008 19:06

so presuming there is only one Sabrina Eriksson then she wasn't charged with murdering someone the same day as the motorway incident - but 3 days afterward (being pedantic as I've had a shit day )

So where does her twin come into the whole thing???

FAQ · 26/09/2008 19:09

Yeni - actually the link (digital spy one) on the 20th May suggests the Motorway incident happened a few days earlier (article dated 20th May - talks about events on the Saturday before - the 17th) .

MadamAnt · 26/09/2008 19:11

I can't find any reliable source that names the Swedish Motorway twins. Sabina Eriksson is someone else.

Upwind · 26/09/2008 19:13

So how have the newspapers missed this bizarre story?

Upwind · 26/09/2008 19:22

MadamAnt, not sure you'd call it reliable but on May 20th, the Stoke-on-Trent Sentinel reported that:

"One of two women knocked down while walking on a motorway has appeared in court. The pair caused chaos on the M6 at Keele and the northbound carriageway was shut for more than four hours. Yesterday, Swede Sabina Eriksson, aged 40 and currently living in Ireland, pleaded guilty to going on to the M6 motorway on Saturday. She also admitted assaulting a police officer. The defendant and her sister were travelling by coach from Liverpool to London when they disembarked at Keele because neither of them were feeling very well. "

FAQ · 26/09/2008 19:25

so she committed murder (and attempted suicide again) on the same day she was in court

Upwind · 26/09/2008 19:36

May 17th - twins' motorway rampage
May 19th - Sabina Eriksson convicted of assault
May 20th - Glen Hollinshead's body found & she jumps from a bridge over the A50

When he died or how his body was found is not clear

MadamAnt · 26/09/2008 19:36

Upwind - I think they've got in a muddle (although am fully prepared to be proven wrong!). Having watched the programme last night, I don't think they looked 40 either.

lilymolly · 26/09/2008 19:38

oh they did look 40 imho anyway

Megglevache · 26/09/2008 19:44

What a strange story. IIRC I'm sure that she was named on the BBC prog. I thought she looked 40 or older.

Ripeberry · 26/09/2008 19:50

Rubberneckers have always been around.
Back in 1986 i was just a teenager and i was in the back of a taxi with my Mum and the taxi tried to overtake a car and hit one of those bollard things in the middle of the road.
It was about 30mph, but of course we did not have seat belts on in the back.
My Mum suffered a cut head and bruising and i had a front tooth knocked out of line but luckily no bruising.
But even in those days it unbelievable the number of strangers who opened the doors of the taxi and took photos and buggered off!
Never knew who they were (it was dark).

Megglevache · 26/09/2008 21:12

Took photos.

OMFG!

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 26/09/2008 23:37

Well we need a Swedish speaker to interpret this for us

WendyWeber · 26/09/2008 23:50

This BBC report about her being charged with the murder is dated 12 Sept

Please pardon my selfish thoughts.....I dont give a flying shite about the two nutters on the programme last night....I really dont care what there mental state is.

All I know is.....my DS3 was allowed to play in our quiet street when he was almost 8 years old. He played out for approx 3 minutes and a lorry reversed over him and crushed him to death....end of story. My little lad did not see what was happening and the man who killed him, although it was accidental, has never, ever apologised.

Those stupid feckin women need to be made to go and view an accident where someone has been crushed to death by a lorry. It is a terrible, awful experience that will, hopefully, leave them traumatised for ever.

My beloved son is no longer here.....they feckin are and they need to be sorted. ASAP!!

shabster · 27/09/2008 01:04

Please forgive me - this film has thrown me 100 steps backwards. Why are they still in the UK? Why do we accept every nutter and strange person? More importantly why has our NHS nursed them back to a more 'normal state.' I wish that the emergency services had got to my son as fast as they got to those women. It took 10 mins before any emergency services got to him.......I climbed under the lorry to be with him. Lay in his blood. He was already dead when I ran to him - 20 seconds away from our home.

brimfull · 27/09/2008 01:34

shabster_what a horrendous thing to happen to your son.
I am so sorry.

QueenBhannae · 27/09/2008 02:11

Shabster, I have no words to make you feel better I cannot imagine the pain that you feel. I am so sorry you have had such horrific experiences Why have you had no apology?
What was Matthew's favourite thing to do? My eight year old dd1 is 'growing'/breeding sea monkeys atm.
I love my dc so much and will think of Matty when I give them a squeeze in the morning. I will try to be more patient and less busy.
You sharing the memory of your amazing son is a reminder to us all to relish every second. Thank you.

Furball · 27/09/2008 07:20

shabster,totally devastating

rosbif · 27/09/2008 07:47

Shabster, you are completely right about resources being directed to the wrong people in some cases. Your babies are all gorgeous - will think of you and Gareth and Matty especially when I am with my boys today

shabster · 27/09/2008 09:07

Thank you so much ladies for your compassionate words. Please excuse my drunken ramblings last night.

No idea why we have never been given an apology - occasionally we see the man who killed him and it is a heart wrenching moment. If the man had apologised it would have helped our recovery so much.

Matt loved ghostbusters, wrestling, ninja turtles, his two budgies, but most of all his girlfriend he had a speech impediment and couldnt pronounce some words. Rebecca was called (and still is) Webecca. His famous speech: 'Oh Mam I just wove Webecca. Her has wed wibbons in her hair and wed wips that I have kissed!'

He was a joy as have all my boys been. xxxx

MadamAnt · 27/09/2008 09:29

shabster I don't know what to say.
