they could have tasered them but they may have run into the road and caused a pile up

SaintGeorge · 25/09/2008 21:00

1 day in prison for assault (I assume the one who hit the copper) is pathetic. The lives she put at risk ffs!

Programme starting now.

IdrisTheDragon · 25/09/2008 21:01

Am watching about it now on BBC1 - Motorway Cops

Slouchy · 25/09/2008 21:04

And the cost to the economy/NHS etc.

All those traffic police, air ambulance, paramedics, 7 weeks in NHS (I assume) hospital. Not to mention the cost to the economy of that sort of traffic incident in terms of business time wasted etc.

Should have been found guilty of endangering public safety at the very least.

Monkeytrousers · 25/09/2008 21:05

What was the logo? I dodn;t see it and don;t really want to watch it again.

It looks to me like they were trying to kill themselves. God knows what must have happened to them, though it is hard to sympathise - but suicides very rarely are thinking of anyone else but themselves in the moment are they..?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/09/2008 21:12

Alambil · 25/09/2008 21:13

feel sorry for that PO woman slipping over... the panic in her voice as she went over the middle barrier

LilRedWG · 25/09/2008 21:13

Totally shocking. I don't remember that in the news at the time.

AnarchyAunt · 25/09/2008 21:15

Thats effing disgusting, the motorists taking photos

Alambil · 25/09/2008 21:17

I wonder if it's some sort of cult; her hat said "Dare To Believe" and now there's more runners?

Alambil · 25/09/2008 21:18

oh perhaps not... looks like they're just lost!

LilRedWG · 25/09/2008 21:18

I hate rubberneckers with a passion!

I was run over by a bus on a main road out of Birmingham at rush hour and there were LOTS of witnesses, who were willing to stand and stare until the police arrived and asked for witnesses - then they all pissed off.

Luckily a lady leaving a local pub accompanied me to hospital and called my Dad for me, but no witnesses stepped forward.

FAQ · 25/09/2008 21:18

omg that was horrific

WideWebWitch · 25/09/2008 21:19

omg, how awful.

S1ur · 25/09/2008 21:20

Disgraceful stupid selfish behaviour.

busymum1 · 25/09/2008 21:22

SparklyGothKat · 25/09/2008 21:23

I thought the tv would cut it like the news did OMG!!! I can't believe they showed that! They must have been on drugs, you can't survive an impact like that and then keep fighting!!

LilRedWG · 25/09/2008 21:24

Shock does amazing things SGK.

busymum1 · 25/09/2008 21:24

when?

LilRedWG · 25/09/2008 21:25

Which - the Swedish women? About three months ago I think.

My accident was years ago - about 1996.
