bbc

As soon as they mentioned that the horses had died it sounded as if a third party must have done it all.

Poor lass

hit man job gone wrong i reckon

amidaiwish · 31/08/2008 21:17

no Telegraph headline says that but actual story says "Police believe the body of a man found in the remains of the couple's sitting room was that of Mr Foster, 50, although he is yet to be identified."
they aren't sure it is him

but they also say "bailiffs were due at the house last Tuesday, hours after the fire started"

seems a strange coincidence it could be anyone but him.

SueW · 31/08/2008 21:17

I know two people who snapped into paranoia as a result of drinking.

One barricaded his house then fled it whilst his wife tried to reason with him, then left and drove his car drunkenly halfway across the country until he was picked up by the police.

Another whose wife ended up taking him to A&E because he was hallucinating.

So entirely possible man has lovely day at bbq, goes home & flips.

But about what has happened to the innocents.

HRHQueenElizabethI · 31/08/2008 21:21

If it isn't him, then I reckon he and his daughter have run (see above scenario). but it probably is, in which case I think she is probably dead.

EustaciaVye · 31/08/2008 21:25

The whole episode is a mystery and much of it will stay that way. Pure speculation about it all atm.

ajandjjmum · 31/08/2008 21:32

Very sad.

morningpaper · 31/08/2008 21:36

I thought the door was blocked from the inside?

I'd imagined there were still sifting the place for a further body

I really, really hope it's not him. Although I'm not sure what's worse.

WendyWeber · 31/08/2008 21:54

The bailiffs thing makes it sound more likely to be him I spose

But the thought of him flipping and going around grimly killing all the living things that had been so important to him...

I wonder if he carried on drinking when he got home, and started off trying to destroy assets, and then just didn't want the baliffs to take ANYTHING - cars, house, paintings, horses, and just flipped. So tragic.

Or could it be the daughter is responsible?

tortoiseshell · 31/08/2008 23:05

I don't think it's all that likely that the daughter dragged a horse box to block the gates tbh...

Pan · 31/08/2008 23:12

I am really dispassionate about this. We have fires started where familiy mebers die, often multiple, but it doesn't attract the same media attention as a white, rich bloke who chooses to flame his family over money problems as this one does. Shame.

WendyWeber · 31/08/2008 23:21

There was a lot of national media attention over this fire at the time but no mystery, so less prolonged coverage.

Pan · 31/08/2008 23:24

yes thanks WW. You well?

WendyWeber · 31/08/2008 23:32

Yes & no, thanks, Pan (have stinky horrible cold-with-runny-nose-sneezes-and-water-squirting-out-of-tear-ducts-when-blowing-nose but fine apart from that )

You? Have you been away, haven't seen you for a while?

OP posts:
Pan · 31/08/2008 23:36

yes, in rl! Have been busy on hols, doing my house and getting a promotion at work as well! And dd has been more available to me, so she comes first, oddly.. Are you coming to the M/c meet up??

solo · 31/08/2008 23:39

I reckon that HE did it. The daughter may not have even been there. Just because her pc was being used, it could've been used by anyone making it look as though it was her whilst she's being sent off to safety.
Mr Foster then shoots all the animals so they don't suffer, then his wife, then himself.
You'll see, mark my words!!!

WendyWeber · 31/08/2008 23:41

Ooooh, congratulations on the promotion & that sounds like a lovely productive summer!

Not planning to go to M/c meetup - although I did see the thread earlier today, & there are lots of lovely people going...will think about it!

Apparently the daughter was on the internet at the home less than an hour before it started. Might have done it to get a bit of Bebo surf cred and a memorial page.

Apparently they are all the rage!

Pan · 31/08/2008 23:46

yes it has been lovely. And a new relationship as well......gosh!

I did post on the meet up thread that I have space here at Pan Towers for a sleep-overer if it is needed. Would be jolly and am curious to meet these posters who I argue/agree with with such vehemence!!
night now.

solo · 31/08/2008 23:47

But anyone could have pretended to be the daughter on her pc - unless she was on the webcam chatting to someone that actually saw her at that time...I'm not convince

solo · 31/08/2008 23:48
