Can't Thai authorities cuff this scumbag and force him on a plane back to the UK?

I thought when you were deported from somewhere that means authorties put you back on a plane for your home country and you didn't have a choice about going there?

There's a big difference between a child molester and a paedophile though.

To generalise, child molestation is more of an opportunist crime and about having power over someone and can be an isolated incident. They can still have relationships/marriages. This is where most child abuse happens.

Paedophilia is much more of a personality disorder and is much more entrenched behaviour and pathology. Studies of paedophiles in prison (again generalising) show that they know it's wrong because they have been told that but they lack empathy for their victims and find it difficult to control their behaviour. Tends to be much more compulsive.

Either way the victims need to be protected and as others have said the rates of reoffending is very high.

Because it's hard to tell that the ten year old in your bed isn't of an appropriate and legal age to be having consensual sex with a 60 year old man, isn't it ?
Did he not realise that the beaten and gagged and bound and raped eight year old that he enjoyed watching online wasn't an adult who was really into what was happening to her, eh?

Look I'm not denying he's a peadophile. I've said that already. But it is hysteria, this lock them up and throw away the key.

Dittany, I often find your comments completely distasteful but I think this comment takes the biscuit - 'Some people are very uncomfortable at seeing any criticism whatsoever of paedophiles - they'd rather people just shut up about it'

I think that typifies the response of a hysterical person. No-one on here is uncomfortable with criticism of paedophiles.

Yes, Oi, what a coincidence. That lovely man who liked watching two year olds being raped was just fitted up some ten year old whores. Of course! That's it! Why believe the little foreign sluts over that lovely bloke?
God, that makes me feel so incredibly sad. A parenting website where even when a man is proven to get off on the rape and torture of children, it is still assumed that the children he attacks are lying sluts. This is EXACTLY why we need MORE villification, not less.

FFS Oi look at Jersey, look at your friends, look at people on here, who hasn't been abused in some way by a man at some point.

In my view men who repeatedly sexually attack other men, women or children should be locked up fairly indefinitely. That is their sexual taste and they are unlikely to suddenly start fancying adults/sex with people who want it.

And sexual offences are not reported. people do want people to shut up. Because if it was all reported the criminal justice system wouldn't be able to cope.

that's not what I said msdemeanour. You're twisting my words. I said that was an alternative view, not necesarily mine. I think you move into INCREDIBLY dangerous territory where you believe everything that is alleged about someone who is in the public eye.

I am sure he has done some horrific things and probably slept with under age girls and is a paedophile as I have said a million times but I remember, way back when, a 14 year old alleged he had slept with her and it got thrown out of court because it turned out that she stood to make a packet from a paper as she had sold her story (I think it was the NOTW) if the court got Gary Glitter convicted of that crime.

The parents I assume, made a pragmatic decision that's available to them under Thai law - he gets a long prison sentence or he gets a prison sentence and has to pay them compensation. Their daughters are unmarriageable, the money secures their futures - the alternative is what now they are soiled goods, to become sex workers?

I think it is rather hysterical to think up all sorts of possible ways to blame the victims rather than the perpetrator. Especially when the victims are little children, and the perpetrator is an adult male with a proven interest in the rape and torture of children. Why do you think you want to do this Oi? Why are you so keen to defend a man who downloaded a picture like this. The judge said the pictures he had seen were pornography "of the very worst possible type". He added: "One image showed a little girl who was seven or eight years old with her legs tied together, gagged, with her hands tied behind her back bearing the marks, real or artificial, of a savage beating. It was entitled The Lovers' Guide to Better Child Sexual Abuse."
