Is this true? because the Daily Mail reported it so obviously I need something more reliable than that

Last year Guardian reported 'there were no plans' for a state funeral.

Anyone heard this from anywhere other than the DM?

She looked fine when I saw her at Buckingham Palace last week. A little more frail than last year, but not bad for her age.

Am I the only one who finds it mighty strange how reviled Mrs T is and yet The Labour Government haven't reversed a single one of her major policies?

State funerals don't just happen overnight, Sim. The QM's was widely discussed beforehand(including by her, afaik)

Possibly it's been revealed now so they can get an idea of just how the idea will be received...

Yes I know the QM was called Operation Tay Bridge and was planned for years. Wouldn't expect to see it in the paper though!

It was def reported that she knew all about it though...the subject wasn't taboo.

Apparently the whole thing was a misunderstanding. What was actually proposed was a stake funeral.

I.e., through the heart, just in case.

Or an estate funeral.
They have to plan it years in advance in order to find somwhere that still has enough council houses in one place.

She is in fact to be given a 'state' funeral funded by taxes and overseen by public sector workers
