Just breaking on Sky News that Brand has been charged with a number of rapes and sexual offences. Good.
I hope his victims are feeling vindicated and supported.

What makes me sick about this is that whatever the outcome here (whether he evades prosecution being in the US & has good lawyers if they try extradition, or is found guilty or not guilty) that it won't make a blind bit of difference to his life.

He'll still have a mass of fans, he'll still be raking in money on his internet channels, he'll be fine and dandy and having loads of cash and the adoring wife.

Yuck.

I can’t find any stats but I would expect the conviction rates for people charged with rapes and sexual assaults against multiple women would be higher as the likelihood of the 50:50 balance of ‘he said v she said’ would be toppled.

I’m bringing ethnicity into it because 99.9% of the time when people complain about people bring up Prince Andrew, etc they then go on to talk about how they believe various Asian grooming gangs have not been brought to justice, two tier Keir, etc.

i completely agree that ALL rapists should face justice and have never given any indication that I’m keen to ignore this fact….not sure why you would say I am? Very odd.

I always found his humour rather lewd and stupid but I honestly thought that was just his 'pose', never took it seriously or dreamed he was a sex offender.

Good, just heard his vomit inducing YouTube statement on the news on 6 music saying something along the lines of having faith in the Lord and being a family man and that during his single days all his sexual encounters were consensual. I don't think that the BBC should have played it verbatim, they should have just said that he has released a video in which he declares he is innocent of all charges. Playing his statement is allowing him to dominate the agenda and must be difficult for his victims

Thats great you agree that all rapists should face justice. Saying there’s only 2 more to go is wrong, there’s the Gisele pelicot and numerous other cases unanswered. Please don’t put words in my mouth. I’m certainly not sticking up for the cases mentioned on here am I? Rape is an abhorrent crime whoever has committed jt and it’s sickening to see it bandied about in an almost jovial way it is on this thread. Apologies if I came across I the wrong way.

I have to word this carefully but I think a lot of people hide their dark sides behind religion. My sister being one of them.

My thoughts are with the women he "allegedly" raped/assaulted and hope that justice will prevail for them.

I think it’s your writing skills which are lacking. Why are you quoting me if you’re talking about another post/poster? And I don’t for one second believe my “assumption “ about your post was incorrect. If you really didn’t mean anything with racist connotations with your post about grooming gangs then yes you do need to be more explicit in your posts….you can complain about being told how to post but really you bring it on yourself with cryptic comments which aren’t explained. I’ve edited I think one post immediately for a typo. My posts make perfect sense to me and are getting plenty of people agreeing with me so guess I’m not the only one thinking so. 👍. One sentence posts don’t make sense, nobody is asking for an essay. You know perfectly well what you did by bringing up grooming gangs.
