I was recently talking about her on the steiner/waldorf thread and read tonight that she has just split from her husband partly due to the lifestyle change required by steiner schools.
Just wanted to post here, incase anyone knew her and could point her to the thread here

OP posts:

Ignore him - he's bound to go away if we just talk amongst ourselves. About -you know, womens stuff.

Mine was clottty this month.

Janni · 17/04/2008 19:12

or worse, captainmummy, he'll try to join in

sparkybabe · 17/04/2008 19:34

Yes well I feel a bout of thrush coming on.

zzooey · 17/04/2008 19:35

At least this time he hasn't come out in the defense of sensitive women or mums. He did that once, when he thought the language was too dirty or ugly. To protect sensitive mums' ears, he advised us all (me and him being the only non-mums present!) not to use such words in the presence of mums.

Slightly misogynistic to think women can't handle anything offensive (well, it wasn't even offensive to anyone but him...). Quite an interesting paralell to the Steiner world. The real world is evil, we've got to shelter ourselves, put cotton into our ears and conceal the letters and words on cereal boxes.

zzooey · 17/04/2008 19:38

So, please mums, prove to thebee that mums can handle anything without fainting. He needs that lesson. Bring out the worst of your vocabulary!!

sparkybabe · 17/04/2008 19:38

zzooey surely it's mums who have seen the best and worst of all? NOTHING shocks us! Not like wimpy tissuepaper men.

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 19:54

Captain

omg barking he's started on you because of bottoms

Do you remember The Singing Ringing Tree?
bee just gives me that feeling I used to get when it was on. Odd and spooked and not this worldy.

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 19:55

Zooey, he called me hysterical.
Tosspot

SpacePuppy · 17/04/2008 19:58

I thought Rudolf Steiner schools were into music teaching, got that wrong well and truly, although our school system didn't teach children to read until age 7...not such a bad thing, but on the contrary we learned a second language from year 3 onwards. So most people in South Africa speaks at least two languages, some way more. Is that weird?

SpacePuppy · 17/04/2008 19:59

I bought myself a new pair of shoes today.

sparkybabe · 17/04/2008 20:05

ds3 fell off his bike and banged his tummy on the handle bars. Keeps pulling the front of his trousers down to show me where it hurts.

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:05

I thought I fancied Marco Pierre white, and just heard him talk on delia and am truly disappointed he hasn't got a french accent.
Absolutely gutted.
How are your shoes?
Are they heely?

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:06

Isn't Delia one of those people who you can tell exactly what they looke like when they were 2?
And she looks like she makes an odd face when she comes

sparkybabe · 17/04/2008 20:07

I laughed like a drain when I read that MPW's kids are fussy eaters.

Wanker.

SpacePuppy · 17/04/2008 20:10

they cut on the corns a bit, but they stay dry in the rain.

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:24

MPW has strangely long fingers though...

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:24

Are corns the same as bunions?

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:27

Oh no, I've just spilt pinot noir into my daughters sea monkeys.
Will they suvive?
Sea Drunkys....
I wishshe wouldn't put these creatures on the kitchen shelf...

PeteK · 17/04/2008 20:33

"im interested in this as my cousins son who is 3.5 goes to a steiner nursery.
when he visits, we are not allowed to interact with him, we werent allowed to hold him as a baby, he has to eat his meals seperate from the rest of us, both his parents sit with him and dont let him interact with the other children.
his mum doesnt bother with us or speak and they hardly visit.
i always thought it was strange the way they were with him, dont know if its the steiner way or if its just them."

It's the Steiner way. Grandparents BEWARE! If you're grandchildren go to a Steiner school, put away any ideas of buying talking dolls or fire-trucks for Christmas, lest you be driven out of your own family! IT'S TRUE!

Solitaire · 17/04/2008 20:35

Nah, corns on the soles of feet, small bits of hard skin like things. Bunions - big old lady lumps at base of big toe, posh spice has them cos she insists on wearer stupid shoes

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:36

I thought they were verucas

Solitaire · 17/04/2008 20:38

verucas are more like warts

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:41

oh right. thanks. great.

Solitaire · 17/04/2008 20:42

err why are we discussing foot problems. Having problems with the old plates of meat northern??

northernrefugee39 · 17/04/2008 20:42

sparkybabe, are your ds's bits allright?
