How sad to think that if he got lost and was able to get to the Restaurant, having seen lights and heard music, etc, from a distance- he then was unable to get heard or to climb the fence.

Yes, RIP and good family can have closure, somehow.

He held on and made it in those conditions, even though he was injured. His wife knows this you can tell.

Dr Clare Bailey Moseley's statement is beautiful. It's made me so desperately sad all over again. I think mainly because there was still so much to come from Micheal, and now I, and rest of us, won't get to hear it. What a loss.

A couple of years ago I went on a solo walk in similar terrain and conditions and I lost the path and got lost for a couple of hours. I fell and for a few moments after the fall I genuine thought I'd broken my pelvis. Luckily I hadn't but I was hurt and it took me ages to get home and I was absolutely wiped out by the whole thing. It was very scary and taught me how fast things can go wrong when out and about in such places. I am an experienced hiker and did have my phone and water with me, but there was no signal and the heat was astonishing and intense.

I'm so very sad about this. What a likeable, intelligent and interesting man he was. What a tragedy for him and his whole family. He will be greatly missed.

Sad to hear. I had a lot of admiration for Dr Michael Mosley. He made medical science accessible to all.

He seemed like such a lovely, genuine man. I only recently discovered his Radio 4 series Just One Thing and I'd been bingeing on them in order to improve my daily routines. I feel so sad that he's gone.

It was lovely. He was an intelligent man but also an adventurer who tested his own limits. He once swam back to shore in freezing water after him and his wife went out on a boat, just to see how his body would cope. Swallowed a tapeworm on purpose. Going walking in this heat, for someone like him, makes more sense. What a guy and what a great contribution he has given to the world, his family can be proud.

He was injured?

I still think from what we saw it didn't look like it was a pleasant walk. Even for him. Just from looking at the cctv s and timings.

I was hoping for a miracle, so really sad to hear he’s died.

Gosh the fact he was so close to help is upsetting. Hopefully he wasn’t panicking and the end just crept up on him. Like going to sleep.

I feel like I've lost a warm and kind friend even though I didn't know him personally. He had such a genuine quality on screen. I was praying for his safe return. A sad day today.

His work has been so important to so many, and it sounds like he was genuinely as lovely in real life as he came across on TV.
