Apparently there is an article in the magazine about Tony Parsons' sex life.

It's put me off my dinner.
I can't even bring myself to open it.

Worse even thah Jay rayner's staggeringly self indulgnet witterings about 'my life in food' last week.

God,where did it all go so wrong?

And has anyone anywhere ever got Doonsbury?

Lowri Turner isn't there now is she?

cyteen · 06/04/2008 22:56

Nah, I never read the comic. I do like Tim Dowling though, after initial resistance based (perhaps unfairly) on every other occupant of that space being complete dogshit.

It's a shame that Observer Woman-hating blog hasn't been updated for a while, that was hilarious.

moondog · 06/04/2008 22:57

A whole blog about how shit it is??
Where?

cyteen · 06/04/2008 22:58

No, Lowri Turner doesn't write regularly for them - I was just so sickened that she had a brown baby, then wrote a piece saying how scarred she was by the experience, then hawked it round the papers and the Grunner paid her money for it (if memory serves it appeared in at least one other weekend rag as well), that I had to include her.

cyteen · 06/04/2008 22:58

enjoy

Threadworm · 06/04/2008 22:58

Re Barefoot Doc, when people whitter on about chi and yin and yan and whatever, I alays wonder why they don't go for the home-grown irrationalism of the four humours -- choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic and [other one].

Nonsense from overseas is spiritual but Brit nonsense is just nonsense.

Aitch · 06/04/2008 22:59

tim dowling is surprisingly good, i think. i didn't like Jon Ronson but i kept that under wraps and certainly didn't get any nasty emails from him and wasn't stalked onto MN by his wife, oh no.

i miss mil millington...

aefondkiss · 06/04/2008 22:59

I love doing the comic stuff with my dd, takes us ages, but I am not very crafty, so with the comic it usually means I can be persuaded to do something.

moondog · 06/04/2008 23:01

Very good.
V good indeed.

That Christa woman needs shooting.

Tim Dowling hasn't managed to be as funny as Jon Ronson I think. More likeable, but not so funny.

aefondkiss · 06/04/2008 23:01

I remember the article and how it got lots of attention on here.... but I haven't seen her in there since, though I don't get the paper every day.

WideWebWitch · 06/04/2008 23:05

I don;t know why Mariella is qualified to give anyone advice about anything. Felt sorry for the bloke but didn't read what she said as I was convinced it wouldn't be worth reading

I liked the picture of Kathryn Flett, I thought she looked nice, better than she looks on grumpy guide

did think paper was tedious in extreme today

Haven't bought it for ages, will prob stop again, it's really not worth it.

WideWebWitch · 06/04/2008 23:05

Lowri Turner and her brown baby, I said what I thought on the thread, awful, awful woman.

moondog · 06/04/2008 23:05

Ahh, growing up with twatty journo parents. At the risk of being a) spotted and b) sued, I will carefully not mention any names, but once upon a time a bloke who worked in the same office as me was the son of a moderately well-known media figure who did a lot of stuff about liberal knit-your-own-knickers relationship stuff and I have never met a more self-obsessed, tiresome, wanky little dipshit anywhere.

Aitch · 07/04/2008 00:00

LAURIE TAYLOR'S SON!!!

Aitch · 07/04/2008 00:01

it is, isnt' it?

Aitch · 07/04/2008 00:08

matthew, that's the fella.

berolina · 07/04/2008 00:11

Loved today's spread on first-time buyers too. Writ large next to the composedly-brave picture of the young family, 'It's affected what kind of holiday we'll have'. Disaster. And they used the phrase 'rented accommodation', which always makes my teeth itch. My lovely, rented Berlin flat is home, not 'accommodation'. How about an article actually questioning the British property obsession?

I liked the Mariella piece.

madamez · 07/04/2008 00:14

Aitch: No. His name began with a B. Who is Laurie Taylor anyway?

Aitch · 07/04/2008 00:15

www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/presenters/laurie_taylor.shtml
surname or forename? more clues please...

madamez · 07/04/2008 00:22

Aitch: Both his parents were agony columnists. I don't really want to out him on here in case he is now married and his DW is reading, because it is just possible that he matured into a reasonable human being, he was very young when he was annoing the crap out of me about 15 years ago.

Aitch · 07/04/2008 00:24

both parents? aaargh, i can't think of anyone. is there a Mr Kurtz?

madamez · 07/04/2008 00:34

Nope. You can CAT me if you want but I really do think it would be a bit mean to out the pillock person on line.
