Is there anything sensible to read about Diane Abbott?

I quite like her.

She's a black woman who's achieved great things from a very working class background, including going to Cambridge. She's clearly not stupid, although there's been huge industry around making her appear so.

It seems to me an awful lot of "peoples' perception of her is bourne out of racisim and misogyny, though she's clearly made mistakes too.

Is there anything balanced to read?

No, of course not and im nit sure why you think that. The victim of abuse in any situation is not the problem.

No, you just said that the rise of sntisemitism is caused by what is being done "in the name of Jews". Which is

putting the blame on Jewish people rather than the actual perpetrators.

It's DARVO.

It’s seriously disappointing that @MNHQ has allowed so many antisemitic comments to stand. Really bad and such a let down for Jewish MNers

@Elfblossom to answer your question seeing as you asked - bringing Israeli politics into a conversation about Jews (ie nothing to do with Israel) is deeply anti-Semitic. Thankfully there is an organisation called the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance who have 35 countries as member organisations who have adopted their VERY specific definitions of antisemitism- please read especially before posting again on threads about antisemitism

What is antisemitism?

With the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, the IHRA built international consensus around an answer to the question, what does antisemitism mean?

Erm ... kindly, No.

I don't like liars and I don't like bullies and I won't be quiet about the injustices in the world, especially right right now.

But why are you ‘not keeping quiet’ about these on a thread that has NOTHING to do with those injustices?? There’s a whole topic about the ME conflict. Why are you posting you ire here? That’s a genuine question BTW - why did you choose this thread specifically? Why not a thread about Eastenders, or children in parks?

She said that Jewish people and Gypsy Travellers experiencing hate is the same as redheads being made fun of for having red hair.

I have zero tolerance for people like that even if she claims she didn’t mean it.

Such a stupid thing for her to say. I take it her much vaunted degree wasn"t in History.
She also said there are too many white faces north of Watford..Racist, surely.
