If WW3 happens and Russia starts bombing UK, what do you plan to do? Do you have a plan of what you would do? Would you stay home or flee the country.. where would you choose to flee to?

I don't know, I'd have to weigh up my options at the time.

Why have you put this in 'News' not chat?

I guess it depends on the timescale given? Do you mean what would we do if we knew a bit in advance? Or if we found out after the weapons had been launched and we’d eventually been notified?

Lol I don’t think this is going to happen, but I have two nationalities, DP has another one and is frequently offered the opportunity to work elsewhere (which he turns down much to my annoyance). We would just up and leave. Denmark is probably too close so probably to the Caribbean assuming he didn’t get a job offer elsewhere (doubtful).

Do you mean nuclear bombs OP? If so I’d swallow the contents of my medicine cabinet with a bottle of vodka.

If they start nuking we'd all be dead. Some sooner than others. 💀

I’d loot the nearest shop for mini eggs and eat myself into a sugar coma, then die.

Indeed

Nothing much we can do if it goes nuclear. Live fairly rurally, so I'd worry about supply lines more than bombs.

😂 oh the macabre thoughts. Here I was assuming that they wouldn’t go straight to nukes.

Why not? I've got some stress going on. I usually eat very healthily but today I had a chocolate bar and three coffees, which is more than usual for me. Feeling helpless to do anything, we seek the small comforts.

Guess you'd have to hope another country would take you in

Both situation.. I'm curious if people actually have a safety/ fleeing plan. I know some who have family abroad in safer countries might flee to there. But just generally what would the majority of the population would do to protect themselves in both situations.

Well if Russia invades UK, it would likely be a nuclear war, seeing as Putin has already threatened nuclear action against Europe & USA

You can't protect yourself from nukes.

Imagine the crazy rush to get on a plane. There won't be enough flights for everyone. Airline tickets will be like gold-dust and the prices will be skyhigh..

I don’t watch the news anymore so I miss most of the fear mongering. But personally I would go to the Winchester and wait for it to all blow over.

I think if it came to getting on a plane.. Even those with Passports will struggle to get a plane ticket.. they will be scarce if everyone will be getting out the gate at same time.. and imagine the prices..

I still remember those fleeing Afghanistan not that long ago, all trying to get on a plane. Obviously many left behind. Horrific

I certainly wouldn’t come on mn. The fearmongering over something which isn’t likely to happen is already off the scale.

And it baffles me that people are crediting Russia with so much power. I mean they’ve been in Ukraine for two years now, and while I do think they will ultimately win, it’s by no means been a walk in the park.

There wouldn’t be any planes. No airline would put planes up with nukes flying around.

@MayThe4th .. You have good point.. would be risky for them to fly planes.. but if Russia gave notice before they began.. like they did with Ukraine, so alot of civilians had chance to get to safe zones, then I can image those with family in safe countries would be out the door before night...I have family in Asia so if I could, I would go there.. but the thought of coming back 1 day to find my house and all belongings turned to dust is frightening on top of the fear of destruction to life.

I hardly think the main just of the news is fear mongering open your eyes and see what's going on and how quickly things turn. Our family has food supplies and emergency bags ready at all times with medications for those that need them a weeks supply, just gotta make sure now and then stuff is in date in them and tbh in the area we live I would say there's a lot prepared by the talk in the town the last few months for the just in case. Also have a massive extended family and they also have things ready to hand if needed. Things happen far to quickly to have time to make big decisions these days
