I actually like Russel brand . And I don't think he's ever hidden what he used to be in his heyday. He's always been very open about his drug use, and promiscuity.

I read his first book . I watch his videos on fb , and while I don't always agree with him, he seems to have totally overhauled his lifestyle, attitudes, is into yoga, self care, seems to be a decent husband and father .

Is this newsworthy ? Young famous comedian in heyday slept with lots and lots of women , consensually he says ?

Hes never hidden it.

On drug misuse I alWays had time for his views that it should be dealt with as a medical issue not a criminal one

What's the news story ?
I always feel like there is much glee and salivating before the media try and knock someone down.
I don't think this is a huw edwards where people would be shocked at him trying to pick up young women behind his wife's back

It seems that brand has settled down , lives a fairly mundane lifestyle and is happy with his choices .

Or am I completely missing something?

What evidence are people hoping for?

It's rape, sexual assault, controlling behaviour, grooming

How do these women provide evidence?

I doubt Brand is unusual in the media world.

For centuries, men have been getting away this this crap. It's totally normalised behaviour. There are no repercussions. No reason for women/victims to come forward

We need to continue to call men out! They need to learn. Young men need to know they cannot get away with this disgusting behaviour

what is pretty damning is that unconnected women have made similar allegations. Oh and a tv company and newspaper are confident enough with their allegations that they’re not concerned about libel laws being broken.

I thought he was OK for a while, when he was on Big Brother's Big Mouth (early noughties,) but found he got too big for his boots when he moved to Hollywood, and became arrogant and showy, and told everyone how much he just LOVES SEX, and how is he is a 'sex addict.'

He needs to be arrested, interviewed and charged if there is enough evidence to do so.

I always liked him in the past and haven't actively disliked him but he's fallen off my radar a bit in recent years because he became a bit odd(er).

I have no idea how much of what we're watching is true but I'm pretty sure enough of it is to be pretty horrifying. There's a big difference between being "shagger of the year" and a rapist and it seems that he is a rapist.

@Sueretiredawhileago I hear you. And I do feel sorry for his wife and his very young children. Imagine growing up to find out that your father is an (alleged) serial rapist and abuser of women.

Do you really, hand on heart think that women make this up? That they go through invasive medical testing and having every part of their lives examined just for the thrill of accusing a man?
