What was going on! A crash in which 2 teens are killed and then a riot, with cops in full gear and shields and teens chucking rocks?

Doesn't the video footage show the boys going straight on and the van turns off the road. They weren't even immediately behind them, or going fast.

And if you've done nothing wrong, why flee the police anyway.

Yes it does. There were bollards preventing ordinary traffic but not bikes so the van turned off and was no where near the boys when the collision happened.

They headed up the road towards the van and then turned around so the presence of a police vehicle regardless of who it was being driven by and for a currently unknown purpose only served to make them turn around rather than cease the activity they were involved in.
