makes me want to bury her head in a bl**dy warm camembert....

NAB3littlemonkeys · 15/11/2007 10:54

When my eldest was about 2 he wouldn't eat scrambled eggs if they weren't organic! To be fair, organic eggs do taste a lot nicer then regular but I was amazed he could tell the difference at such a young age.

I do feed my child well but they do have crisps and chocolate too.

BOOquets · 15/11/2007 10:59

Lazy journalism. I thought working from home was supposed to make you use your brain better .

oliveoil · 15/11/2007 10:59

her children are very rude

have posted on that site to inform her of this fact

hatwoman · 15/11/2007 11:00

pmsl. stupid stupid woman - 2 hours in the kitchen? I can whip up homemade chicken nuggets in 10 minutes. hatwoman gives herself the smugger than you prize.

does anyone remember that ridiculous Evening Standard article about that woman's house being destroyed in a storm? same thing. except with king prawns rather than designer granite work tops. quite wonderful really

oliveoil · 15/11/2007 11:00

As if organic eggs taste any different than other eggs

come ON purlease

spokette · 15/11/2007 11:01

I liked the comment that was left by the American.

Bundle · 15/11/2007 11:01

twattery

good word

PrettyCandles · 15/11/2007 11:01

Apart from the fact that it's the Daily Mail, I don't really see anything wrong witht the article. Yes, she's created a rod for her own back by being too perfectionist as a mummy. I've done that too. Though I've not been that fussy over organic stuff, nor been that analytical with my children regarding the ingredients in their food, I, too have children who will only eat good food. At least, I did - in the last 6m or so they have (thank goodness!) condescended to try the occasional bit of junkfood.

Had I done more cooking with the LOs, then I'm sure they would be quite pedantic about the ingredients as well!

But if you always cook from scratch at home, and don't use salt but use lots of alternative flavours and seasoning, then of course pre-prepared food will taste excessively salty and 'wrong'.

manchita · 15/11/2007 11:01

Oh God! I know exactly what she means. I gave my daughter brie straight from the fridge this morning- she lifted an eyebrow and snarled 'mother, what is this! you serve brie at room temperature you idiot!'She then flounced to her room and refused to talk to me.
She is so funny. Sometimes I wish I didn't care
about her so much then I could just give her frozen food and chips like you lot do!

lucy5 · 15/11/2007 11:03

OOooo, couldn't read whole article as I just wanted to thump her! Testing cheese for ripeness!

Sorry, who eats brie for breakfast?

Raggydoll · 15/11/2007 11:11

Are you joking manchita - god i hope you are. There really is no need for that amount of smuggery and her article gives a poor impression of her kids as well. It is possible to offer a good diet without being so smug about it.

manchita · 15/11/2007 11:11

Pretty Candles- I don't give my children processed food and they both eat lots of fresh fuit ang veg. 90% of their food is home made and yes, my dd does find a lot of other food too sweet or too salty.
I think it is the whole tone of this article that is annoying rather than some of the content. Although some remarks make her children sound like brats and she seems v proud of this fact.

Oblomov · 15/11/2007 11:11

I did. This morning. BOOquets.

bozza · 15/11/2007 11:11

{hmm] manchita are you for real? If my DD had spoken to me like that she would have been staying in her bedroom sat on her bed. But maybe that is just me. And of course all I feed them is frozen food and chips.....

Piffle · 15/11/2007 11:11
