Who advised her? Bad move, the press are going to savage her.

Poor cow, I don't know how she puts up with it, I thought I had problems.

OP posts:
MrsArchieTheScaryInventor · 31/10/2007 16:47

I've just watched the HM interview on BBC News 24 and she came across as very hostile and didn't take too kindly to what she was being asked, probably because the presenters weren't rolling over and pandering to her agenda.

Pathetic really.

LoveAngel · 31/10/2007 18:29

Irony, Bundle, irony. And it's not hate. It's the deep, deep cynisicism of a bitter old hack.

Monkeytrousers · 31/10/2007 19:58

So much for any ideas of 'sisterhood'.

MrsArchieTheScaryInventor · 31/10/2007 20:03

What's sisterhood got to do with it? The woman is a gold digger! Any woman who claims never to have heard of Paul McCartney when they meet him for the first time is either lying or has been living as a hermit for the past 50 years.

LoveAngel · 31/10/2007 20:23

I don't have sisterly feelings towards people who manipulate the media and are famous for...nothing. Oh, and rich for um...nothing? I don't 'hate' her really. I don't even dislike her. But she is fair game. Definitely.

Monkeytrousers · 31/10/2007 20:49

Okay forget ideas like 'sisterhood' and try plain old empathy.

Famous for...loosing a leg, subsequent charities and marrying one of the Beatles. Which one of them is a manipulation alla Paris Hilton, do you think?

Rich for..marrying a Beatle. So what?

Why is she fair game? Is she a Jordan, a Paris, a Nicole? No. And no one is fair game anyway; the Geneva convention stretches even to celebrities.

And "gold digger" is one of the phrases said media have labelled her and subseqntly had to apologise for, as it is a slander, nothing more. So she isn't a gold digger, why else don't you like her?

I start to see the kind of people cheering in the public executions; any rationaism will do as long as it isn't you or yours.

Monkeytrousers · 31/10/2007 20:51

And as for not knowing the beatles..sounds like a good chat up line to me. WTF else would you say to a Beatle to make him laugh?

NAB3 · 31/10/2007 20:54

I don't like her as she pretended to be my ex boss.

She is one messed up woman.

People will never side with her over Paul.

NAB3 · 31/10/2007 20:55

Apparently she did the interview against the advice of her advisers and they ar eno longer her adbisers.

Elizabetth · 31/10/2007 21:07

Some people just hate women and if there's a woman who isn't bowing down in front of her ex-husband and taking the shit that the media throws at them ( e.g. Princess Diana and HMM) they are the target of enormous hatred. It's the modern-day equivalent of witch-burning.

Look at Bill Wyman having a "relationship" with a thirteen year old girl or the child rapist Roman Polanski, does anybody hate them? No. Polanski even got a standing ovation at the Academy Awards. But women like HMM who just seems like a bit of a pain in the neck are ripped to shreds.

southeastastra · 31/10/2007 21:08

heather irriated me the minute i saw her, years before she met paul. you can't like everyone can you

Heated · 31/10/2007 21:20

She is a strong, articulate woman who is involved in a number of worthwhile causes, who is vilified by a male dominated media for speaking her mind - so I've tried to like and admire her but actually I can't.

She sanctimoniously lectures others whilst airing her dirty linen in public; hawks herself around as a professional victim; seeks publicity in giving interviews but then complains about the press intrusion in her life.

I've known a few women like her who are all about me, me, me. The worthy causes they zealously support are often to aggrandise themselves. Their attitude towards those they are charitably helping is uncomfortable & patronising. They perceive themselves as some sort of Mother Theresa tending to the poor unfortunates but it consumes their life to the exclusion of family and they are often hectoring & thoughtless to the 'minions' who are there as their 'supporting cast'. They exude little warmth, real generosity of spirit or humour.

Elizabetth · 31/10/2007 21:23

"They exude little warmth, real generosity of spirit or humour."

Neither does Paul McCartney.

Tinker · 31/10/2007 21:29

But no-one's talking about Paul McCartney, they're talking about (because she wants us to be presumably?) Heather Mills

People dislike her because she's easy to dislike, not a lot to it really.

jezzemx · 31/10/2007 21:42

I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her (her own family don't trust her) I think she has major problems and needs help. She seeks attention at every opportunity.
Why do the interview? BECAUSE she is an attention seeker with alot of money and self pity.
Thank the lord for my very very boring normal existence. I couldn't be arsed.

WideWebWitch · 31/10/2007 21:42

I only read about this, she's a loon, surely?

Elizabetth · 31/10/2007 21:47

According to that interview Paul McCartney's team is briefing against HMM to the press. Someone is anyway, as all these legal details that make her look bad keep leaking out. So it's quite possible that we're talking about her because Paul McCartney wants us to talk about her (negatively of course).

WideWebWitch · 31/10/2007 21:48

I have to say I do think she must be damaged and probably deserves pity rather than our scorn.

although the petition business is a bizarre.

kinderBOOsurprise · 31/10/2007 21:54

On the GMTV website

Things that struck me:

She is a loon

She knows that there have been 4400 abusive articles about her in the past 18 months. Why would you count? And the two huge files with cuttings.

Fiona is very good at pretending to be lovely and sweet but did you notice how she kept referring to todays press cuttings, and asking Heather's opinion.

Who has 300 friends who are soo loyal that they would not talk to to the press? I do not even have 300 friends.

Near the end of the interview, when she say that she considered suicide to protect her daughter, she looked straight into the camera and said, "that is the truth". Looked very insincere to me.

Very bad idea to go on GMTV, I do not think she has done herself any favours. I am undecided whether to feel sorry for her, after all she has been in the media for years now and should be more media savy. She comes across as being completely out of her depth.

Bundle · 31/10/2007 21:56

loveangel, hardly irony: "i fucking hate paul mccartney"

hifi · 31/10/2007 22:03

i was really taken aback when she catalogued all her miscarriages and ectopics, very very sad for her but why air something so tragic and very personal.

NutterlybloodandgUts · 31/10/2007 22:09

I didn't see the clip, but I can hand on heart say I have no opinion of heather or paul, or any other celebs, and will continue to think this way until I meet them.
IMHO to form an opinion on someone's character, for better or worse, having not ever met them is foolish, and some of the vitriol in these posts towards a women the posters have never met is appaling.
Would you allow your DC to come home and badmouth someone they've never met based on what a random person told them? I highly doubt so, so to do so as grown adults is awful.

IntergalacticWarlock · 31/10/2007 22:09

I suppose GMTV needed to get some other press other than robbing thier viewers through premium rate phone lines.

'staken the heat off em a bit.

IntergalacticWarlock · 31/10/2007 22:09

As for Hearther Mills, she's chicken oriental

hifi · 31/10/2007 22:14

looks like shes had a lot of work done.
