Who advised her? Bad move, the press are going to savage her.

Poor cow, I don't know how she puts up with it, I thought I had problems.

OP posts:

Your uncle was in Wings? Oh, that's more interesting the humourless Heather Mills. Noticed the way Fern called her just Heather straight after Mark Stephens had called her Lady Heather

Tommy · 31/10/2007 12:15

just seen her ranting on Good Morning. Does she really think people will like her after that? Can't believe anyone has advised her to do this

ScaremyVile · 31/10/2007 12:16

Just seen her on this morning (my, what a pile of dross that was). My thoughts are...

A) The change in the law re press intrusion and untruths that she seeks is very worthy and I hope it comes off (though I dread the resulting boost in her self-obsession)

B) She comes across as quite charismatic, and is probably fascinating company.

C) She is, nevertheless, a deluded loooooooooooooooon.

D) Her lips are fab. Were thay always like that? If she's had them done then it's the best lip-job I've seen.

ishouldbeironing · 31/10/2007 12:21

Oh this was soooooo bad I was watching it through my fingers.
I loved the way Fern handled her tho - I wonder what the fallout will be.

flowerybeanbag · 31/10/2007 12:27

It's such a shame. I have no reason to think what she says about what happened is true or untrue, Paul McCartney might be horrendous for all we know.
But the trouble is no one is ever going to believe her or give her the benefit of the doubt if she continually undermines her own credibility in this way. As others have said, whoever is advising her seriously doesn't know what they are doing.

ruty · 31/10/2007 12:34

Well anything post 1972 Tinker.

i think her lips are done. Isn't she due for a huge payout which would cancel her debts? I think Paul should just give her half and be done with it.

bodycolder · 31/10/2007 12:37

Fern really had it in for her

Tommy · 31/10/2007 12:39

I don't think she did bodycolder - seemed to me that she was just asking her what everyones wants to - "Why don't you just leave it?" I thought Fern was quite gentle with her tbh

ruty · 31/10/2007 12:40

what did she say?

stripeybumpsmum · 31/10/2007 12:53

I agree she is badly advised. If she thinks she is misinterpreted whatever she says, the easiest way is to say nothing and maintain a dignified silence - clearly a war Paul is better at winning than her.

I am open minded about her, and only saw the last five minutes of the interview. But even in that she came across as accusatory and melodramatic. For example, she said she is not allowed by law to talk about the court procedings because of the family law. But then said, so why don't you ask Paul? To which Phillip said, well we did but they didn't want to comment. Surely she knows he is bound by the same legal rules as her so she knows he would not be able to make a comment - so spitting out a 'why don't you ask him comment' looked (whether she intended it or not) as an attempt to make him look bad.

BTW, if her legal team are charging her as they proceed, they are not exactly reputable. It is more usual in these cases, where the legal team believe they have a good case, to agree to bill on settlement. If they are expecting her to pay as she goes along, IME in the legal profession years ago, it would imply they did not fully back her case.

spokette · 31/10/2007 13:02

Her first ex-husband should have warned PM.

I also remember a TV interview where she said that if PM was penniless, she still would have fallen in love with and married him.

Bessie123 · 31/10/2007 13:05

I did quite like her, but she came across as a massive crazy on GMTV this morning. What a loon.

ruty · 31/10/2007 13:09

i'm not keen on demonizing her though. PM should take his responsibility on the chin. He married her, he had a child with her, he should now pay her properly whether we think she deserves it or not.

MrsArchieTheScaryInventor · 31/10/2007 13:17

From the GMTV website;

Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife, who is locked in divorce negotiations with her husband, also launched a fierce attack on the media for "pushing her to the edge'' and called on the public to stop buying tabloid newspapers. At one point she appeared to break down, later apologising for becoming upset and saying: "What are we doing as a nation buying these newspapers? We need to force a change as a responsible nation.'

...until my no-holds barred autobiography is serialized in one of these tabloid newspapers.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 13:21

I dont really care for her either way - she's just another schleb to me.

I do honestly think she's had a hard time via trial by tabloid.

She's damned if she does, and damned if she doesnt.

I dont have a problem with her financing herself by doing dancing-style programmes - or anything else she chooses to do to earn a living (as long as I dont have to watch them - I never do anyway). I find that commendable, quite frankly. She may, or may not get a decent pay out from PM - so to protect her future by garnering work and assignments is, IMO, absolutely the right thing to do. Rather than sit on her backside and await a judge's decision.

The paparrazi earn its living from chasing down schlebs and getting "exclusive" photographs.

Just look at the current inquest with Princess Diana. There were press surrounding a dying (some of them had presumed dead) woman, taking pictures - not helping. To suggest that their targets are ruthless money-grabbing folk is disingenuous, and in fact, it is very much the other way around.

There needs to be much tighter regulations on paparazzi. Their behaviour (and clearly morals) is appalling.

This woman would not be in the papers so much if they didnt keep snapping her, and getting paid princely sums for doing so.

Most of our newspapers (and our tabloids entirely), are taken up with "news" (aka gossip) about stars, actors, singers, celebrities. It's all a load of wank.
It's not "news". Yet it takes up so much print space.

Whether you like HMC or not, the fact remains that she is where she is right now because of greedy paps and newspaper editors with ££££ flashing in their eyes.

wannaBe · 31/10/2007 13:21

well the artacle by the ex-husband did appear in the daily mail so am ve but that being said, who has the better track record... paul or heather...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 13:25

Paul only ever basked in the sunlight that was Linda. When she went....well....just look at him now?

Mind you - Linda was an object of public hatred and ridicule at first too.

CRikey - is it possibly because people think that no woman will ever be good enough for Saint Paul???

MrsArchieTheScaryInventor · 31/10/2007 13:25

But Heather Mills is one of those 'celebrities' who moan about media intrusion yet freely court the media when it's to their advantage.

I for one would be quite happy never to hear the name Heather Mills again.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 13:26

Like I said - damned if she does, and damned if she doesnt.

paulaplumpbottom · 31/10/2007 13:28

She maybe should get a little bit of his money, but certainly not what she is asking. He earned it after all

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 13:28

What about his daughter?

wannaBe · 31/10/2007 13:29

vvv I do agree with you re the paparazzi but the reality is that it's all about supply and demand. The reason why the papers pay for these pictures is because a pic of hm, or Britney, or Jade Goodie does actually sell more papers, despite the fact that most people seem to say that they don't buy them.

If the public weren't buying, the papers wouldn't be paying for the pictures and the paparazzi wouldn't have a job to do.

So maybe we as the public do bear some responsibility in this also?

PeterCushion · 31/10/2007 13:30

Sir Paul has a very slick team of publicists and media-manipulators. He may be sweetness and light. But if he wasn't, we'd never know.

Heather Mills seems to be a very damaged person. And like her or loathe her, there is no doubting that she has been hounded and villified by the British press and paparazzi.

All this animosity is so sad for their daughter.

spokette · 31/10/2007 13:32

Most minor slebs court the meedja because without it, they are nothing as they have no discernable talents to justify their public profile.

Trouble is, slebs and their publicists court the meedja so I do wish the meedja would ignore these non-entities - that way they would fade back to obscurity where they belong.

spokette · 31/10/2007 13:37

"Heather Mills seems to be a very damaged person. And like her or loathe her, there is no doubting that she has been hounded and villified by the British press and paparazzi."

She should have remembered that when she stalked and hounded J-Lo for exercising her free will to legally wear fur and invited the meedja to witness her gallant one woman protest. Just because you don't like something does not give you the right to bully others who disagree with you. Practise what you preach.
