I am always suspicious the moment lies come out that are really easy to check (eg the qualifications). Comes of some RL experience.

she was directly quoted, pruni, the papers just don't do that (to people who might sue, i mean) unless it's true. but there's nothing stopping them using age-old quotes...

It's not that it's totally unbelievable, it was more the context of the other untruths, iyswim, that made it not ring particularly true.
I read one of the articles and it was all direct quotes from CV - so would they just not print that if they thought MJ would sue? In this scenario, is it the sort of thing that the paper would need to have independent corroboration of?

i wonder if what happened was that they ran the story a few years ago, got the quotes from her then and then MJ didn't deny/sue so felt at liberty to re-print? i see what you mean, though, that she may just have been making it up? i'm not sure that they would have to have it corroborated, a kiss'n'tell is a kiss'n'tell... so long as the women say that the men have big penises they tend to leave it alone.

Channel 4 did not care whether she had any qualifications. Didn't the nice continuum concept lady say that they had lied about her qualifications in publicity even though they knew she hadn't finished a course? (I think in bf counselling). Apparently the whole production team and Claire Verity believe it is possible to follow a 4 hourly routine from birth and breast feed. (Although Claire Verity thinks being a size 6 or 8 could make things harder).

The whole MJ/CV shagathon is a hilarious twist to a very sad story. I think it must be true, papers have to be very careful with allegations like this or they will be sued. It just shows that neither MJ nor CV have any standards whatsoever. How humiliating for Jerry Hall. It's one thing your husband running around on you with young brazilian models, quite another when he's coupling with an old trollop with a face like a slapped arse.

IMO, CV is a mean old cow who openly dislikes babies. I'll never forget her feeding that tiny amount of formula to those twins and saying something like "what do you think to that sonny?" She was clearly taking a perverse pleasure in having power over such tiny helpless beings. She was enjoying the whole thing. The fact that she slept with her employer's husband is no surprise when you consider how heartless she is.

Oddly enough, having been reading this thread(but not posting, as usual)at the weekend, I then actually met the CV twins at a toddler group today. With their nanny rather than their Mum though. Not sure of the relevance of me posting this, but I just thought it was an odd coincidence...

And...are they glaikit?

But do tell...were people at the P+T group talking about it? Or did it pass without mention? Was everyone looking out of the corner of their eye, checking for psychological damage?

The sad thing was though, I did find myself analysing their behaviour and how they were interacting, and comparing them with my DS2 who is the same age but bf on demand (still!), co-sleeping, not left to cry etc (oh, and also not yet sleeping through the night, but there you are ). It just shows how awful giving such young babies TV exposure is - we all knew who they were, and so couldn't help but let that influence what we thought of them....they weren't just a pair of cute twins, but 'those babies that were treated so horribly by their parents'.
