And can you believe they've deleted my post?

Who are you people?

Middle England.

Decent people, who do not let themselves down on internet forums.

Care to join us ???

Thought not...

Oh FGS! I will not get into a debate over the McCanns part in this. If people wish to get into a sick discussion over this again then do not do it under the name of MN, and get MN yet again in the media with negative comments.

bibibaby · 10/09/2007 21:37

because it could be libellous, that's why it's been deleted

ScoobyDooooo · 10/09/2007 21:37

I think the posts that have been deleted are because you were insulting others.

bobbysmum07 · 10/09/2007 21:37

And I'm starting to wonder whether there's a more sinister force at work with all this stifling of free speech.

paolosgirl · 10/09/2007 21:37

Aaahh...see the self-appointed MN censors are out in force again. Perhaps they would like to draw up a list of topics that they find acceptable, and topics which must not be discussed more than say, once or twice (again, frequency to be dictated by them).

I'd love to be at a coffee morning or some such with them - "no, sorry, can't discuss that, we talked about it last week - registering my distaste". Yet somehow it's OK to dictate to others from the anonymity of a nickname, whilst hiding behind a PC.

Registering my distate at your attempts to censor free speech on an open forum

Hulababy · 10/09/2007 21:37

bobbysmum07

I would say it may have been deleted as it vorders on libel. MN can't have any more legal procedures against them.

bobbysmum07 · 10/09/2007 21:38

Pin a rose on you, Hulababy.

Hulababy · 10/09/2007 21:38

eh????

morningpaper · 10/09/2007 21:39

A Sinister Force at work?

Now you are coming over all Paul Burrell

bibibaby · 10/09/2007 21:39

also, think MN are fully aware of the risks of hosting an OPEN discussion forum in terms of libel etc

ggglimpopo · 10/09/2007 21:39

In spite of myself I click on everyone of these bloody threads. Let it go; it is not your story to play with.

stop

bobbysmum07 · 10/09/2007 21:39

BreeVanDerCamp - decent people do not seek to defend the indefensible.

Hulababy · 10/09/2007 21:40

I agree bibi, especially after the GF issues earlier this year and last year. I doubt MN will want to face similar problems again. Hence the deletion of particularly problematic posts.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 10/09/2007 21:40

You are right MP, I saw the Guardian article, it reminded me of Mumsnet. As a prolific poster at time, I know you must be right about 'done to death'.
I don't believe for a second that the Portugese police scratched their beards, sniffed their moustaches and thought that because a poster on MN said they felt the McCann's behaved "oddly" then they must be guilty. As another Catholic I'm sure the same poster may have thought I would have behaved oddly. I really don't see myself in a posistion to judge.
In fact I feel that rathermore it's a journo desperate for copy, maybe another lazy mumsnetter, who knows?
The whole situation is pitiful. If I can go to bed tonight and sleep without thinking about it I shall be happy.

Please don't take offence though MP, I'm an ardent fan

bobbysmum07 · 10/09/2007 21:42

Especially not when it's no more than a sham furthing their own agenda of making themselves feel smug, self-satisfied and santimonious.

bobbysmum07 · 10/09/2007 21:43
