This registering your distaste business is just bumping-threads-out-of-existence-by-another-name.

You've all demonstrated, conclusively, how refined, sensitive, special and above-common-gossip you are.

Now why don't you go and do something more useful with your lives than trying to stop other people talking about something that interests them?

I have spoken of this case with my family and work colleagues. This forum can is an extension of this.

Whilst there has been lots of luric speculation about this case I do feel that people should be able to discuss it. It is natural its been all over the news for months.

After all Maddie has disappeared she is the real victim here and whatever did happen should be identified and the person resonsible brought to justice.

fakeblonde · 10/09/2007 20:46

Well said .

morningpaper · 10/09/2007 20:47

Yes that's what we want! Freedom of speech to say that the McCann's are shitty parents! Well done!

Can I recommend you read this, from which I would like to quote:

"How exactly should one behave when one's child simply disappears? Pray to God, if you like, that none of Kate McCann's critics are ever compelled to find out... It is the real life of Kate and Gerry McCann, and it must now have become a place of agony beyond all understanding. Pity them, if you have any compassion at all, and demonstrate the minimum of grace: the ability to desist from judgment."

Kewcumber · 10/09/2007 20:48

pmsl laughing at the idea of registering distase being a "bumping off" exercise - this thread is on post 66 at current count! It couldn't possibly be instead that many posters are genuinely fed up with continuing speculation fed by dubious news reports

I don't and have never defended the McCanns - I still think continuing speculation is misleading and pointless.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 10/09/2007 20:50

I reckon if they really did a thorough job, they could probably find Shergar and Lord Lucan in there.

CountessDracula · 10/09/2007 20:50

Talking to your friends & colleagues is completely different to speculating on the WWW for anyone to see

Go & twitch some net curtains instead

welshdeb · 10/09/2007 20:53

Part of me thinks ..There by the grace of god go I...
and the other part of me thinks that if nothing else they did leave those children.

As I said maddie is the real victim and the parents will have to live with this for ever.

morningpaper · 10/09/2007 20:57

Anita Roddick has died!

(As you are all so interested in current affairs)

zanyj · 10/09/2007 20:58

Well, there was a new report, and I'm not engaged in lurid speculation-- I posted to say I hoped there was another explanation and that perhaps the reports were faulty.
