i had one night stand (3rd base) on bonnet of car in grounds of said club once. was really swoonworthy (unlike most one night stands)

Bubble99 · 14/08/2007 22:56

Stop it!

I wonder if I could get a part-time job there?

Bubble99 · 14/08/2007 22:59

Sunday is open to the public day. Take picnic, replace bits of grass thingies.

He really was a vision of earthy male loveliness....

Heathcliffscathy · 14/08/2007 23:01

feel like julia roberts in pretty woman day, apart from scene when lawyer makes her feel like a hooker goddamn him.

Bubble99 · 14/08/2007 23:06

I think that's the thing, soph.

He is swarthy, earthy and so natural looking on a polo pony.

Whereas I see a lot of the H polo natives looking, well....so English. You know, heels down and all that.

I can imagine that a 'date' over there would have been lovely. One to tell the grandchildren?

Bubble99 · 14/08/2007 23:07

Anyway. We seem to have totally hijacked this thread with our drooling?

I can't, Kerry.

I'm getting a bit hot under the collar just thinking about it.

Mr Bubble is going to think Christmas has come early.

newlifenewname · 14/08/2007 23:16

My potential next date half owns a stud farm

Bubble99 · 14/08/2007 23:18

Just that term...mmmmmmm....'stud farm'....

Night all.

Kerry. I will take a camera with me next time I go for a walk in the woods, so that you all can share in his loveliness.

But I saw him first. OK.

I can't get my head around giving paedophiles any rights within society, other than the right to rot in prison. I realise the prison system is at breaking point, but what else can be done with adults who rape children? Of course there is a very important place in all of this for therapy and medical intervention - but this should be to help victims of sexual abuse at risk of offending themselves, not people who have already offended, surely? I just cannot understand how it is possible to rehabilitate someone who is sexually attracted to and has sexually assaulted children...? Even if they 'only' rape one child and then never do it again, surely that single act is so wicked and wrong that they must be judged on it? Surely? I mean, if not, WTF is going on in our society? Ask yourself this - if you knew the guy who lived next door / your colleague / the farther of your child's best friend had raped a child, how would you feel? Frightened? Angry? Repelled? Of course you'd feel all of these things, and you probably wouldn't want to live/work/let your kids socialise with them again - ever. And is that because you are a nasty, judgemental vigilante? NO. Its beause decent people don't rape children and dopn't like those who do. It is the biggest taboo, the most abhorrent act I can personally imagine. Why should I have to pretend that it isn't? It is. Paedophiles are not the victims in all this. mlet's not talk about like they are.

I don't think anyone has ever said you have to like people who have sexually offended. And no-one has said you have to feel sorry for them either.

When the pitch-forkers come out, then reason goes away. It seems to become a matter of expression of revulsion, which we all feel, but then not alot of sense after that, I'm afraid.

Reallytired · 15/08/2007 13:11

Not all paedophiles commit rape.

The issues are more complex than some posters understand. It is not black and white which is why we have judges and parol boards to decide what to do.

newlifenewname · 15/08/2007 14:35

There are some really fuckwitted comments here and it really cheeses me off that people so ignorant can shout so loudly with such a lack of understanding or compassion.

slim22 · 15/08/2007 14:35

Nobody said anything about giving peadophiles rights.
The premise on which we live as a society is that EVERYBODY gets equal rights and opportunities untill proven guilty pf an offence.
The OP asks the following question: can you put someone in jail because you do not agree with their views?
Let me remind you that (appart if you are a suspected muslim terrorist, but that is another debate) in this country, you can not be emprisonned because of what you think.
Thank God!

Of course I want to cut the balls off these bastards, but so does the parents who lost a child to a drunk driver, the person who lost a relative to a negligent doctor, etc....
Where does it stop?

This is democracy. Look at what is going on in the world around you. It is definitely not the ideal system, but it is much better than anything else.
If you can think of something else?

whiskeyandbeer · 15/08/2007 15:04

"that people so ignorant can shout so loudly with such a lack of understanding or compassion. "

is that directed at anyone in particular?
i think for the most part it has been discussed reasonably.

newlifenewname · 15/08/2007 15:18

No w&b, there are several sentences that come across as ignorant and lacking in understanding or compassion.

whiskeyandbeer · 15/08/2007 15:32

and i was just wondering which ones in particular you do not agree with.

newlifenewname · 15/08/2007 15:37

is it not obvious which sentences lack compassion and understanding or are you hoping i will name names and cause a fight?

whiskeyandbeer · 15/08/2007 15:50

no because i'[m unsure of your mind frame.
i'm not really looking for names or fights, just the general view points you find lacking in compassion. as i said i don't know what you are thinking so you could feel that comments regarding the rights of these criminals ar uncaring to the victims.
or perhaps my comments that it was right that one posters father who abused her was not put on a sexual offenders list as he was never found guilty and so the courts had no choice(although it was worded a lot better than this and did not intend offence), you may have found these sentiments to be out of touch.
or you may object to people saying things like let them rot to be an over the top punishment.
if you think it will start a fight or cause offence then i won't push you to mention names or rehash the whole argument.
i was genuinely just wondering as i'd imagine there are a lot of things you could find personally appalling on this thread depending on what view point you take.
