Toddler fallen down 100m hole and the rescue efforts

I searched but couldn’t find a thread on this. It’s one of the most harrowing news stories I’ve read in a while and I can’t keep my mind off it for long.

Has anyone been following the rescue efforts for the two year old who fell down a 25cm x 100m borehole. I can’t stop thinking about that poor poor family, he fell down last Sunday. They are frantically drilling hoping he may still be alive. His older brother died suddenly of a heart attack aged 3 whilst running on a beach not long ago too.

Poor little mite, I hope the end came quickly and painlessly.

I don’t think it’s fair to say Spain has non existent health and safety, this was an illegally drilled hole on private land that was hidden by the presumable driller, they have already launched an investigation to find and prosecute the person responsible. Plus the reason it’s taking so long is they’re taking care of their workers.

I've been wondering about this situation too. I'm surprised it's not been on the UK news.

I worry about that too Nico. Unless there is something they've not released, I don't think they've got official confirmation what depth he is. I think they are presuming he is under some layers of rock/soil that probably fell when he did (and where they found his cup and sweets). God help them if they still can't reach him.
