Very I am still hoping for a happier outcome than this, regardless of the odds of that happening now

LaCerbiatta · 14/06/2007 13:53

The ad about Sergey Melinka selling his car was posted in March ....

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 13:59

?who's googling?

Wolfgirl · 14/06/2007 14:03

New evidence, towel found at scrubland site...

here

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 14:05

?why did a jpurnolist find the towel??and not the police?

mumemma · 14/06/2007 14:05

What I don't understand is if that journalist Antonio Toscano knows who has Madeleine and that she's still alive, why he doesn't do something about it as there's such a large reward for her safe return?

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 14:05

sorry 'journalist'

NoNoNoNo · 14/06/2007 14:13

Looby - what's weird about him selling his car? It looks like it needed selling - 140,000 km, and 8 to 10 years old. Why is that weird?

NoNoNoNo · 14/06/2007 14:18

I dunno, pinkchick. I reckon the whole area is crawling with journos, and so it's quite likely that one will find something.

Only guessing though

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 14:20

actually just read on msn that the journo's were there before polive started searching, so maybe they got the ball rolling or maybe in the total wrong direction..who knows

NoNoNoNo · 14/06/2007 14:22

sounds right, PInk. And they;re probably trampling all over any possible forensic evidence that might have been there

NoNoNoNo · 14/06/2007 14:28

this story is weird - suggsting that the sniffer dogs currently all over the place are brought there by journalists, not police

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 14:40

strange?, but i guess at least theyre looking? perhaps the police already 'know' shes not there but cant make statement? and is robert murat STILL a suspect?

Wolfgirl · 14/06/2007 14:45

Police abandon search...

HERE...

The McCanns have critised the early release of the letter to the Dutch paper, saying that they should have given it to the Portugese police to investigate thoroughly before releasing to papers.

Those poor poor people. so sad, what a nightmare for them. Just horrid.

TaylorsMummy · 14/06/2007 14:49

i can't believe they could abandon the search already

if i were her parents i'd be out there searching myself

it seems to me, the portugese police abandon and discount things all too bloody quickly

Twiglett · 14/06/2007 14:51

DO YOU NOT THINK THE EXPERTS ON THE GROUND MAY NO MORE ABOUT WHAT IS WORTH PURSUING THAN A BUNCH OF PEOPLE CONSIDERING, IN THE MAIN, MADE-UP NEWSPAPER ARTICLES BASED ON FLIMSY EVIDENCE?

AND I'M SHOUTING ON PURPOSE

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 14:56

like i said Twiglett, the police may already know where she is hence them not searching this other area, i have always believed they know more than they let on and quite rightly so

TaylorsMummy · 14/06/2007 14:58

shout all you like twiglett, if it makes you feel better, it makes no difference as to whether i'll post my views on this or not

binkleandflip · 14/06/2007 15:00

Sorry, did someone say they have called off the search of this area?

PinkChick · 14/06/2007 15:01

apparently so, so the jouralists have brought in their own sniffer dogs!

FYI:

  1. Re the car: Like I said I was merely sharing. It was four days after Yeremi Vargas disappeared. If they are already aware of this it will take them five seconds to dismiss it.

  2. I read the independent.

?One should be more concerned about what his conscience whispers than about what other people shout.?

GameGirly · 14/06/2007 15:07

Twiglett rocks.

Twiglett · 14/06/2007 15:08

hahahhahahhahahhahaa at the conscience quote

OMG

thank you so much

kookaburra · 14/06/2007 15:11

Wannabe - you have been the voice of reaon on these threads... Annoyed with myself becuase I saw a headline today that I thought said Madeleine body found, made my heart lurch - but it ACTUALLY said 'Madeleine body found' - jeez, seems like the gutter press can say anyting they like if they put inverted commas around it.
I saw that Gerry McC was annoyed that it got into the press before the police could investigate - but hey - he was the one that started and strove to sustain this media circus - like Pandora's box - if you unleash the power of the press you cannot expect to control it to suit yourself.
