It appears the children and teacher have been found alive.
Has a miracle happened ?
I am so delighted and hope they will be ok after their horrific ordeal.
It's always nice to see good news as lately all the headlines are of something bad having happened.
Please forgive me if there is already a thread on this topic.

Oh yes they said they had a super pump coming. Oh lets hope.

PestymcPestFace · 09/07/2018 09:05

Elon's sub is interesting Hmm lets hope someone from the company has sent over the power packs and pumps.

LanguidLobster · 09/07/2018 09:08

@Pestymc actually I did wonder what he was on about Grin

Fingers crossed for mission today

CHIANG RAI — Head of the cave rescue operation said today’s mission to save the boys trapped inside could be faster than yesterday.

Narongsak Osottanakorn said divers entered the cave at about 11am earlier this morning and headed for the rest of the youth football team stranded in Luang Khun Nam Nang Non cave complex. Four boys were brought out on Sunday.

“We’re ready 100% and expect everything to be complete faster than expected,” Narongsak told reporters.

Regarding the ambulances, seven does seem an odd number but it would be highly unlikely that all the remaining boys would come out at once so maybe time for the first ones to get a boy to hospital - less than an hour away- and come back again.

I would say it's more positive that there are ambulances rather than if there weren't.

But am finding the lack of concrete information frustrating I can't imagine what it will be like for the parents. Apparently not even knowing which ones are out which seems ridiculous.

He added: “The water level is not worrisome ... Yesterday’s rain did not affect water levels inside the cave.”

SummerGems · 09/07/2018 09:21

I’d imagine that the parents whose children are being brought out will be being told as that starts to happen.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 09/07/2018 09:36

Yesterday’s rain did not affect water levels inside the cave

Thank God for that.
So are they planning on bringing them ALL out today or just the next group of 3? Or maybe 2 groups of 3, if there are 7 ambulances. Surely they will need the 10 hour break again like yesterday?

peridito · 09/07/2018 09:57

I'm thinking one group a day ...

Everything tightly crossed.

I'm still thinking the worst about the discrepancy in numbers reported yesterday and the Seven ambulances. Also the silence, not knowing which boys are out.

I can't imagine it's any better for the parents to be kept in the dark, not knowing which boys are out, than knowing the truth. The wait must be agonising.

UndergroundSun · 09/07/2018 11:09

Reading on The Guardian it said they're expected out between 13.30 & 14.30 GMT. Keeping everything crossed for today's mission.

Cheekycherry99 · 09/07/2018 11:11

Just got notification on phone from The Guardian stating that the 5th boy is out.
The whole situation is horrific, I can't stop thinking about it.

PestymcPestFace · 09/07/2018 11:18

Singapore news has boys 5 & 6 coming out.

BarbaraofSevillle · 09/07/2018 11:21

Hopefully if some boys are coming out now, they can get two groups of three out today and the remaining three and any doctors or other support currently with them out tomorrow?

PestymcPestFace · 09/07/2018 12:03

News is 4 children made it to chamber 3 today. So they should be out soon.

EdgeOf17 · 09/07/2018 12:12

This morning the BBC reported that 4 were out and 9 remained, therefore these figures add up so i feel more reassured

And now a 5th boy is out. Keeping everything crossed, i am constantly refreshing the news on this Sad

QuinquiremeOfNineveh · 09/07/2018 12:22

I suppose whether they can get another group out today will depend on whether they need to stop to replenish the air supplies en route, which was the reason they had to pause the operation yesterday. Plus they'd need a whole second team of divers who know the route, as those who've just come out won't be able to go back immediately for a second trip.

Barring any sudden change in conditions, I think slow and meticulous is probably the best approach. The reported problems with the air supply in the chamber where they were found have presumably eased a bit, now there are fewer people there.

JugglingMonkeys · 09/07/2018 12:23

5 and 6 are said to be out. My heart stops every time, hopefully all will continue okay for the rest.

QuinquiremeOfNineveh · 09/07/2018 12:26

I suspect if there is bad news, they'll try to keep it quiet until the operation is complete, for the sake of everyone involved. (Not that I have any reason to think there is, just that I think that would be the best thing to do.)

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 09/07/2018 12:40

7th out nowFootball

StealthPolarBear · 09/07/2018 12:47

Amazing. Keep the good news coming

SummerGems · 09/07/2018 12:58

Only five have been confirmed.
