The old thread takes too long to load.

Lets hope this is the one that contains the good news that she has been found alive and well.

OP posts:

Clearly the Police and everyone closely linked with this case don't know how to work Google.

Have there really been 200 posts-worth of News Updates since 7pm last night??

Thought not.

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 10:48

people do discuss in in the street

my trainer was talking about it last night

but you know what? In RL you can say 'can we not talk about it?' and people stop

not here, oh no, not on rubberneckers-r-us.net

toomuchtodo · 17/05/2007 10:48

inspectorcluseaunet

or something like that!

oggsfrog · 17/05/2007 10:48

In came the animals, eight by eight
Some on time and the others were late
In came the animals, nine by nine
Some were laughin' and some were cryin'

tortoiseSHELL · 17/05/2007 10:49

This is demeaning to MN.
It is demeaning to the police.

Most importantly it is demeaning to Madeleine McCann and her family - who are REAL people in a REAL situation, not some internet fantasy. (Sorry but the dream stuff has really annoyed me!).

tortoiseSHELL · 17/05/2007 10:49

And it so is rubbernecking.

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 10:49

I'm going to ring Portugal and tell them about Google. Also I am going to ask them whether they have noticed that bloke looks a bit funny.

Enid i do that

they were discussing it in my office

i said "please can we not talk about it"

and they stopped

its manners

pinballwizard · 17/05/2007 10:49

yes asking people to stop assumes that they have somewhere inside the capacity to see how deeply wrong this is..I am shocked that they don't

morningpaper · 17/05/2007 10:50

Candle for Madeleine - thoughtful and kind
How you can help - positive and constructive

But this type of thread makes me cringe and despair

QM, once again, where are your mindees?

I would sack your ass if you were supposed to be minding my kids and were sat on the net arguing with people!!

quietmouse · 17/05/2007 10:51

Devils, I think you are taking an unhealthy interest in me....

I have no mindees today

(Not that is any of your business)

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 10:51

good idea malory

do you think we could all email Rymans and get them to send some notebooks over?

oggsfrog · 17/05/2007 10:52

In came the animals, ten by ten
Time for the voyage to begin
Noah said. 'Go shut the door!
The rain's started fallin' and we can't take more

tortoiseSHELL · 17/05/2007 10:52

and a good supply of Agatha Christies to give them some tips (or Nancy Drew?)

pinballwizard · 17/05/2007 10:53

I'm thinking more babysitters club

morningpaper · 17/05/2007 10:53

I'll ring Johnsons and ask them to send some Talcum Powder for dusting for fingerprints

debbsyandsonn · 17/05/2007 10:54

Right ive had enough of this some of us havent been googling , but
acting in a way to try and help by distributing posters as far and wide as we could THAT is what mumsnet is all about....
and we are discussing in a quite rational manner the events that are hopefully leading to this little girl being found.
As human beings we are all given rights
the right to talk?not to talk
the right to challenge/vice versa
and on i go ... the right to this the right to that
oh and also the right to red threads and the right NOT to
Do you catch my drift??
