I'm going to make a wildly speculative comment here, please don't shoot me down. I'm not trying to be amateur sleuth either but if you google the Russian "Sergey Malinka" the only link is to www.corlettmaritima.com/indexx.swf which is some sort of expedition organisation who appear to own a boat moored in Lagos Marina. Remember the report of the man dragging a girl along near Lagos Marina? Sorry, this is probably so way off the mark.

I was reading some old material earlier today, and read about the balding man with white trousers, dragging a young girl to a marina. YOu may well have a point mumemma, but no doubt the police will have thought about that too, especially now they have his laptop etc.

however, if this does turn out to be a lead, and madeleine was taken on a boat, then she is well out of portugal now. God bless the poor little lamb, she must be petrified. I hope that whoever has her, is treating her well, feeding her etc. Bloody ba--rds.

Because crime of this nature is so rare, in fact non-existant in Praia da luz, can we assume that this crime was planned well in advance, and it just happened to be poor madeleine they took. And they took opportunity of taking her, becasue they saw the parents leave her alone?

I have never posted on any of these threads yet, for fear of reprisal, but is everyone having that sickening feeling every time they see that little girls picture on the tv? I just keep imagining what I would feel if it was my dd.

I just can not begin to imagine what the parents are going through.

lilymolly..I agree..i don't know how the parents are able to go on...They are very strong corageous people..I would be incapable of anything i think..i would have to just be sedated...It really doesn't bear thinking about and i hope the mccanns find a way to carry on somehow.

I think it was pre-meditated as opposed to opportunist; and yes I think you may be right LM, the family will have been watched; but if you were RM, and saw a little girl identical to your own, would you really agree to an abduction - knowing what lay ahead for the poor little mite?

Yes..wolfgirl..a woman demented is exactly what i would be too...I too admire the mccanns for their bravery. I feel so much as well for the grandparents..(Kates parents) who we have seen several times...it must be so so difficult to watchtyour daughter go through this pain..The grandmother has said she has seen her daughter howl like an animal...that absoutly had me almost in tears. ..To have cameras following your every move whilst going through this grief must be terrible.

man alive, what you said - howl like an animal, just made me cry and swallow a lump in my throat. Thats how I would be. I would be peeling my own skin off I reckon. The poor woman will never EVER live her life normally again; she will no doubt have a break down, but will have to survive for her other two children. What an awful awful place to be.
