I think we all need not to lose sight of the fact that we are all mothers and actually have a lot in common. If we met each other in RL we'd probably all get on rather well.

Perhaps you can...? I have yet to see evidence of that though.
In fact Iam normally a bit of a coward on the internet .I hate confrontation so I will probably avoid you to be honest.
Its not like me to speak out but I thought I should for once.

Enid, you are so right. I was subject to some ridicule and abuse last Thursday - I have no idea if you were amongst the people doing it. It sickened me to the stomach, and made me so upset I cant relay! I couldnt believe what was going on. I told DH and said Id heard of the Witches of Eastwick, but these nasty women were the Bitches of Mumsnet!

And when I say you are right, Im referring to what you have said, that we are real people out here, and there is no way in a million years that we would speak to each other face to face, the way we speak to each other virtually. All have opinions, feelings, differing standards, parenting abilities, religious faiths etc. What an utterley boring world it would be if we were all the same.

If we were all the same, we should nominate to change this site name from MUMSNET to Stepford wives/mums.

Not quite sure why everyone is having a go at Enid. I've been on MN for about 4 years now (have recently changed my name) and I've always found her to be funny, insightful and very generous with her advice.

A number of loons do seem to have come out of the closet of late. My toddler children have better manners.
