The old thread takes too long to load.

Lets hope this is the one that contains the good news that she has been found alive and well.

OP posts:

"If I were the McCanns, I would hire a private inestigator/s."

Sorry - forgot to add quote to my last post!

binkleandflip · 19/05/2007 19:33

The woman said the child looked 'sad' and asked when she could see mummy again. Whose to say that wasn't her own father and they'd perhaps had words or whatever? My dd is always falling out with one or the other of others and saying "I dont want you, I want mummy/daddy etc. Quite implausible I feel

binkleandflip · 19/05/2007 19:34

If there is CCTV footage from the garage then surely the McCanns have been shown it by now?

noonar · 19/05/2007 20:10

i was in marrakech for my dads wedding in march. my family live about 200 yards from the hotel ibis. we swam there. walked past the petrol station many times. it's very, very strange to think that little maddie may have been within yards of my morrocan family.

if only this witness had heard of madelaine's disappearance at the time.

cab · 19/05/2007 21:04

Noonar: Just in case - any chance of you e-mailing the poster link to your family and friends in Morocco and asking them nicely to circulate it?
They'll get a copy in arabic on:
www.virtualglobaltaskforce.com/

If that doesn't work just google: bring madeleine home. Go into contacts and information, then virtual global taskforce.

Ta much.

mumof2monsters · 19/05/2007 22:04

Not sure if this is old or new news! see below:

Portuguese police revealed that the Russian computer geek quizzed over Maddie's disappearance wiped all files from his computer hard-drive just hours before they seized it.

Sergey Malinka, 22, a friend and business associate of Maddie suspect Robert Murat, deleted scores of files from the computer memory and cleared databases just hours before detectives swooped on his flat in Praia da Luz.

He has not given any explanation or told them what was on the missing files.

And cops are increasingly concerned about discrepancies in the statements made by Malinka.

He is said to have changed his story THREE TIMES - telling police that he hadn't seen Murat for a year, then claiming they hadn't been in touch for three months before finally saying it had been "a while" since they spoke.

pinballwizard · 20/05/2007 10:15

I imagine that lots of people have things to hide which are in danger of being unearthed in a police investigation but not necessarily related to it in any way

BigPantsRule · 20/05/2007 10:25

Agree this is suspicious behaviour but there are all sorts of reasons for wiping computer files. I think these two might have been up to something, but whatever they were involved in is not necessarily connected to Madeleine.

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 20/05/2007 10:45

i've heard it's quite hard to completely erase a hard drive

pinballwizard · 20/05/2007 10:47

it is you can get software that does a quite good job but if enough expertise and expense is thrown at it then you will get a lot back

mylittleimps · 20/05/2007 10:49

you shold always remove your hard drive when sellung an old computer because nothing ids safe if you know what you are doing so this should not be too much of a problem for the police to get round and does not really work as a way of hiding anything

Flumpybumpy · 20/05/2007 10:59

Bigpants, for all we know they have!!! If they have or do they would be well advised to keep it very quiet!!

BigPantsRule · 20/05/2007 12:41

Flumpy - that was the very point I was making in my reply to JimmyJamas

Flumpybumpy · 20/05/2007 12:55

Bigpants, my apologies I have read back my post and i realise it came accross as a bit argumenative (?). I was trying to agree with you but I couldn't make my sentiment come accross in my typing

BigPantsRule · 20/05/2007 13:17

OK, thanks, no probs!

Wolfgirl · 20/05/2007 17:14

What do you think of this?

EnidTheInvisible · 20/05/2007 17:18

I think it is weird

CODalmighty · 20/05/2007 17:18

ii think go and live you own life

this is nto vicarious entertainement

NK4cdb4418X1128a277799 · 20/05/2007 17:20

Me too, Enid.
Don't want to judge as I think this is a situation where you cannot for a minute predict how you would react, but this all seems very odd too me.

hercules1 · 20/05/2007 17:32

They clearly want to keep feeding the media so that the story doesnt get forgotten. I would do exactly the same as them. Why is they seem to be fodder for the vultures?
