The old thread takes too long to load.

Lets hope this is the one that contains the good news that she has been found alive and well.

I really don't know what I find more distateful. The original posters or those who are bullying (and I use that word advisedly) those people.

Having a laugh on a thread like this, isn't what I ever thought MN was about.

I think it is shameful behaviour, really shameful

NKF · 17/05/2007 11:03

The jokes and sarcasm are about time. Honestly this thread has been off the scale ridiculous. Dream analysis, wild speculation about suspects, googling for evidence and a horrible breathless excitement about non updates. Threads like this make you realise why it took women so long to get the vote.

morningpaper · 17/05/2007 11:04

Dude, these are my work trousers

scatterbrain · 17/05/2007 11:04

Ah - no news I see !

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 11:04

advisedly?

advised by whom?

sorry to upset you debby!

trying to bring some lightheartedness into a terrible situation

not a good idea!

NKF · 17/05/2007 11:05

And let's get one thing straight. No-one is laughing at the parents whose child has been taken. They're laughing at the twits on this site. Not the same people at all although some of you don't seem to realise that your own emotional needs are not the same as the McCann's feelings.

agree NKF

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 11:06

for me, having a laugh on a thread like this is totally what mumsnet is about

[again, sorry justine )

I know it upsets the vocal minority though so I do keep momentarily disappearing. Then you can have your say about google and dreams and suchlike, free of any 'uncaring' comments.

debbsyandsonn · 17/05/2007 11:06

i know wannabe i do agree (hi by the way problem sorted with my dh now )but there are plenty of us just discussing, and yet for the past 3 days has been slated and slated time and time againPlus everyone has their own opinions and has the right to do so,and what some people believe in others dont. But none of us has the right to criticise and be hurtful to other people surely?

NKF · 17/05/2007 11:06

Wannabe - you are not serious that someone actually suggested contacting the parents. Please tell me you're not.

EnidTheInvisible · 17/05/2007 11:07

I don't think the speculating posters on this site do get slated again and again. I think they have a lovely day and night posting nonsense to each other, all wrapped in some cosy cocoon of self importance and then every so often, somebody loses patience and gives them a tongue lashing.

debbsyandsonn · 17/05/2007 11:09

toomuchtodo no problem.

[hands torch to NFK and fades away]

pinballwizard · 17/05/2007 11:10

I think they have pretty much had free reign but it has merely allowed them to get more and more wrapped up and disassociated

nailpolish · 17/05/2007 11:10

Tragedies such as this should make you want to play with your children, give them an extra hug etc and thank your lucky stars

not sitting google eyed on a pc clicking refresh on sky news, or gossiping on an internet forum, dribblng at the mouth for any juicy titbits
