Evidence seems to suggest that Madeline may have been taken to Spain and yet very few people out there are aware of what has happened or what she looks like etc.

We need to send as many emails as we can to Spanish businesses with a poster attachment and highlight this case.

I need mumsnetters to volunteer.

I have called in sick today to get this started but this is a massive task and I cannot do it on my own.

I think I have just received that

I think that the best thing we can do is use the heading in the subject bar supplied by the translators.

Then paste a link in your email to the page that Mrs Spoon linked to as this has been translated into Spanish and has more images etc that might help.

I am doing this now and saving as a draft, so I can forward it on to you when it's ready!

The only problem is that it is a PDF file which Cannot be altered.

really pants at links. I have just checked costa blanca news (local paper in english). covering all the Alicante type area and some. No mention, the only thing i can think of doing is calling them and telling them to check out MN and this thread. Is this a crap idea or could someone just goggle Costa blanca news and send them a link or poster.

The link from Mrs Spoon is an excellent one because it can be translated into many different languages) and it is easy enough to paste the translated heading into the subject bar.

I agree with the advice to at least contact the family for approval before it goes live , people react in different ways to things so although i'm sure they'd be glad there's help out there it's still important to check.anyway best of luck with it all. it could be an idea to contact the press when you're ready , try local paper or news networkfirst because that is usually where the national press pick up their stories from, it might even go worldwide- particularly a mn has just ben in the news it could be a good time - anyone know a journo out there?

Does anyone work in PR and have a database of media contacts. I do sort of but I have just done a search for newspapers in Spain and absolutely nothing. Trying to phone their helpline but someone out there might have access to a better db than mine.

I only had a UK subscription to the database but the lovely, lovely people at the company have agreed to upgrade it for me for a week to cover Europe for this good cause. Right, I will get on to getting a the email and link and poster out to all the media I can find this weekend..

I don't know. perhaps by contacting the hospital where Gerry Mccann works, or the practice where Kate Mccann works, or one of the media organizations that have interviewed family members.

I just don't feel that it's right to go ahead with this without first talking to the family. This is their daughter after all, I think it's at the very least appropriate that they see what wording we are sending out in the email about their daughter, even though it's just words on an email to us, they may want it to be worded differently.

Thinking about it wannabe, they have started an internet campaign themselves that they probably hope will spark something like this. They want people involved. If someone knows the family then great, let them know but I don't think it should stop people doing what they themselves started.
